A reminder about warm summer water and bacteria brings up the possibility of flesh eating bacteria if you go in the water with open sores.

There doesn't seem to be a source for water temperature ranges and the bacteria, just over 50F in salt water and some muttering about warmer water in brackish conditions.

Life exists beyond New Orleans, but it's not worth arguing with someone that can't spell doofus.

The hottest I have ever seen in the Gulf, or had my captain, was 98.6, we were fishing the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic about two weeks before Katrina, and we hit the most beautiful weed line I have ever seen between the Ram Powell and URSA rigs. It was hundreds of yards thick at many places and was so thick it looked like you could walk on it. Water was completely cobalt blue. it was perfect. It was also as barren as a desert, started out a dozen or more boats trolling all damn day night, nothing. we had a bill slap at sunrise one am, one boat had a break off about same time. Everything was 200 feet or deeper, everything even the baitfish. Surface temp was 98.6 no one had ever seen anything like it.

Two weeks later Katrina went right over it before slamming Bay St Louis.

Nothing that you posted disputes that this could easily be the hottest summer in living history.

Like when the “scientists” told us 40 years ago that there was a hole in the ozone layer caused by hairspray?

Which there was…. And has been mostly patched due to policies that were directed at that issue in 1989.

Yeah. Hairspray and aerosols. Forget the millions of pounds of unregulated emissions produced by almost half of the earth’s population living in India and China that have no real regulation.

We got rid of Aquanet and saved the ozone layer! USA!

Scientists detect problem and cause, propose solution. Governments take regulatory action to implement solution. Problem is no longer as big a problem, so naturally conservatives wonder what purpose science and regulation serve.

I remember being in 5th grade and the girl that sat next to me during 1st and 2nd period was terrified of the hole in the ozone layer. Literally terrified. I bet she’s still wearing 2 masks.

NOAA's Shell Beach station at 200' is too close to the shoreline in 5' of shallow water for general Lake Borgne oceanography measurement, but yea it's hot water there tonight.

Will this motherfricker ever move or is it permanent?

Maybe if we raise taxes global temps will drop.
