The original is still there, just not every night. Still plays around for the kids. Honestly though, I like the crust better when the son is running the place.
Badeuax's for malts.
I used to live across the street from Mr. Badeaux in madisonville, the original before Peter Gitz bought him out.
Real Covington throwback...carlo's pizza. The blue building between Walgreens and butter crisp donuts. Is some insurance place now. But was a really cool pizza spot back in 80's
Good call on Roy's on Columbia. Just bought my son a machete from there last week.
BJ's pizza for 90's
Crazy Johnnies on 190
Playville for skateboard gear

are you talking about the pailet house in the woods near the river?
I grew up in CCC on shady lane, all the way in the back. The pailet woods were across the street and back then you could go thru the woods all the way to 22 where they started building beau chene
We used to camp out in the woods back by that house

Chris Kerageorgiou, the founder of La Provence, was a great guy.
Trained the chef and owner of Cafe Lynn, which is named after his wife. She also worked for La Provence.

It was on the river right next to the country club in the back. Now that I think of it, it technically was in the next subdivision over. Belle Terre maybe? Anyways, Bobby Hebert owned it and never moved in. Then John Goodman bought it and never moved in. The house was in pretty bad shape from what I remember. The story was it was haunted for some reason.

That house is still there. It's been renovated and actually looks great now. The blossmans own the country club and most of the houses between that neighborhood and the clubhouse along the river. I've just always assumed one of them bought that house at some point.

That was Sam and Eli's house I am pretty sure.
They were at 21st and Van Buren, A block west of the library. Was there a LOT. We built that ramp at the house in Abita then moved it to there. The other ramp I can think of in Cov. was Chris Heap's It was kind of like behind the old as station that is the detail place and the cupcake place on Boston st.

I'm reviving this old post, damnit!
Well, my intelligence is debatable.
To be fair the only times it was overly dangerous was after a storm (you'd have to check the spot you were jumping into for logs or other crap and also the depth of the water) or if the water was too shallow. The biggest risk was all of the rusted metal and crap on the bridge. Only time I hurt myself on the water was the time I stepped on a broken TV in the middle of Lake Pontchartrain.
Not going to lie, I confess myself to be remiss that the bridge collapsed. Probably for the best, it was a really stupid thing to do in retrospect.
