Some of you are real pieces of shite. That kid is showing real emotions that no 9yr old should ever have to show.
I’ve counseled downs kids for 20 years. Some times it takes every fiber of my being to not lose my shite on the twats that frick with these kids.

Kids can be cruel, but they say things only as long as they know it bothers you. I am a redhead and heard “insults” all day everyday. And I never let anything bother me. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me” was my motto. I laughed at them and with them. Teasing someone is not much fun if it doesn’t get them riled up. Eventually, they gave up.

the issue is.....what exactly can you do to stop 9 year olds from bullying a child with dwarfism? It's horrible behavior, but 9 is still young.
Let's say you found out your son or daughter, age 9, was bullying a child with dwarfism. What would you do to stop your child from doing it? You aren't at school to monitor them. Teachers can't watch all kids at once.
Such a tragic situation.

It’s a small world. A little encouragement can keep someone off a short rope and the tiny effort it takes to prevent someone from feeling miniscule dwarfs the Lilliputian feelings of superiority it takes to looking down on someone.

It’s exposure, and he’ll get 1000X more recognition now with his pain broadcast across the globe than he would as some dwarf no one knew that got bullied in some Aussie town.
The reality of the fact is that any publicity is good publicity and His mum just secured him some gigs, selfish reasons or not

Everyone took turns at being bullied when I was growing up. I got bullied and I WAS bullied and we all ended up ok, except that one kid who kept playing Star Trek well into is high school years - I digress. At any rate, I feel for the kid but his parents need to quit letting him play the victim all the time. Life can suck and sure people can gang up on you, but at some point, you ARE ON YOUR OWN. Give your kid some confidence to fight back and equip them with boldness, help him/her to be comfortable in their own skin and feel loved no mater what.
