Devastated Australians and sports stars have sent messages of support to a nine-year-old boy who begged his mum for a rope to kill himself after he was bullied at school over his dwarfism.

Yarraka Bayles, from Brisbane, filmed her son Quaden crying in the car after she picked him up from school on Wednesday.

The schoolboy, who has the most common type of dwarfism called achondroplasia, told his mother: 'Give me a rope, I want to kill myself.' 'I just want to stab myself in the heart... I want someone to kill me.'

So sad.

Filming it and putting it on the internet should make things better.

It might make him famous, and that could make him happy. Maybe he'll become a celebrity. He'll start acting, landing the lead role in the new Willow. He'll start drowning in normal sized pussy and develop a trendy coke habit. This kid's gonna be a star.

Life’s too short to let the small stuff get to you.

ETA: Bullying sucks, but if this kid is having suicidal thoughts, his parents need to get him in for serious counseling.

His parents should foot the bill? Not the school?

Its so sad when she said she needs to watch everything he does so she can make sure he doesnt kill himself.

Cant imagine being on edge like that all the time. Awful.

Maybe press the school to foot the bill but I would rather drain my 401k than bury my kid because I wanted the school to foot the bill.

Honestly, the kid should have been in some type of counseling long before now.

Oh man. That just wipes me out. No child should ever suffer like that. I wish I could make him king for a day and let him rule his world properly instead of having shite shoveled down his throat. Compassion, people . It’s not that hard. He’s really suffering. I hope somebody influential champions that little fella and gets him in a better environment.

yes he's suffering and instead of consoling him, his mom is recording him.
