AP story from 89 years ago, with Mardi Gras falling on the same date as this year. Be careful today and don't be one of the casualties left in the path of Rex.

It clearly says "yesterday" in the first sentence of that article.

Yeah, I screwed that one up a bit. I'm looking at the WaPo from the same year and see Mardi Gras was on the 12th. More details about five of the deaths are in the WaPo article.

One of the deaths was a rider who fell off and was crushed by the wheels of the truck, one was were killed in a shooting in Shakespeare Park, and the other three died of gunshots in other unnamed places in the city.
