The most stupid people I see in the parks?

Those 30 and under.

Check the injury reports. You smart asses think you at Disney World.

I think some people don’t realize those really beautiful pictures professional photographers get of these animals that look up close are with a 600mm+ lens and they’re more then 25 yards away.

Haven’t been to Yellowstone yet but I have seen a Momma bear chase people in the GSMNP when people jumped out of their cars to stalk her cubs. I always root for the bear in those scenarios.

Media needs to stop “humanizing” dangerous wild animals on TV, movies, children’s books etc.. These animals are characterized as sweet, soft and cuddly.
Or humans can use common sense and not get close to the wild animal. I feel bad for the old lady, but this is on her not the movies/cartoons she watched.

From the 40 yard dash thread, the average OTer can afford to get closer as they can easily outrun a Bison.

Just because I grew up reading the Berenstain Bears doesn’t mean I’ve ever thought it was okay to walk up and touch a damn bear.

Media isn’t the issue.

We went to Yellowstone. My wife wanted a buffalo pic. We saw some and stopped to get some pics. Psycho wife is stalking this damn buffalo like she's part Sioux Indian. Anyway, she got well within the 25 yd rule mentioned here to get a freaking pic. I got a great shot of her sneaking up on the thing because I'm WAY in the back.

Don’t believe you without claimed pics of “Psycho wife stalking this damn buffalo like she's part Sioux Indian”.

And you do realize that Sioux Indians always stalked Buffalo in the nude?

I don't see why ppl screw around with these wild animals. They're cool but should be admired from a far.

After all, would you walk up to an elephant or a cobra?

We were just there the previous weekend this happened. The Bison are plentiful around the park and I was very surprised by just how big they are. I would never think to get that close to them.

Worded to look like the bison was checking her out.
The bison didn't walk over to her.
She walked to the bison.

This is why we can’t have nice things. These people that do this shite at the park are absolutely retarded.

"Fluffy cows". lol

This is another example of how they have to speak to infantilized adults, "Friend-shaped". I guess making warnings sound cute helps people realize and remember the wilderness isn't some big petting zoo.

They are beautiful creatures and an integral part of American history. Glad to see us finally taking proactive measures to ensure they will thrive (2018 BCTP). I enjoyed seeing the Bison Reserve in Blackfoot while in Montana this past September.

It seems that too many people watched Ferdinand with their grandkids and have entirely unrealistic expectations about the friendliness of gigantic creatures.

Fwiw they also don’t sound like friendly versions of John Cena. In fact, they can’t speak English at all.

Somehow the woman lived. Dumbass.

It was the rest of her family that attracted the bison. At 83, she simply couldnt outrun them, or the bison. Granny definitely re-writing that will, when shes released from the hospital
