You'll never see Supernovasky on here again for an obvious reason.
He was an angel. Literally. Posting here for a specific purpose than gone forever.

Yep. Ours too. In the process of having to raise our house now. Notified 5 years after the flood we are required to raise our house because LP wasn’t supposed to issue permits to “substantially damaged” homes. Still dealing with flood shite 7 years later. And only 23 years left on the SBA loan. Lmao
What is this process like? How is it going to be raised? Are you being given any assistance to do this?

Other than BR hopefully not ever having a biblical like flood, why would he not be back for just a random topic?

He was around for hours and brought water and supplies. Handed them out himself. There was like a 25 minute video someone on my Facebook took personally of him handing out supplies. Go white liberal somewhere else

Well, he’s on Reddit under the same name.

about Trump.
Trump came down here and spent several hours passing out supplies, as well as seeing the devastation. Good politics and it's what leadership is about. he got it.
Hilary is the one who couldn't be bothered. Didn't calculate in her votes so she ignored it all.
Obama was on vacation when it happened. When he returned from vacation, he came down here. He wasn't tone deaf on these things as Hillary was.

00 sandbags later, my head is still clouded about all the decisions I made that week. Literally a game of inches and I lost that battle
We luckily won the game of inches. About an inch to spare all the way around

My parents lost everything. 2 weeks later we lost my mom.
Today I’m sitting in L.A. waiting for the first tropical storm to hit here in 80 years. Got a little anxiety going on.

August 13th I had 4 1/2 foot of water in my house. I remember the president or candidate did not even bother to come down to Louisiana. Seeing what is happening in Hawaii now, me thinks there is a pattern.
They got Air Force One all ready to go for the upcoming hurricane oh i mean rainstorm that will hit California.

In Old Jefferson... We looked at ten houses here back in 2010, ended up buying one of two that did not require flood insurance. Neither house flooded, the rest did.
My mom was near the Magnolia Bridge in Central. When the road was overtopped, her street went from six inches of water to six feet in less than 30 minutes. She was rescued by boat. I was able to drive out and pick her up at the Central Walmart. When I crossed Greenwell Springs going in, the water was about six inches deep. On the way back (twenty minutes later), I was going through over a foot of water.
Ended up with an additional six people in our house. My wife helped organize plate lunches for the neighbors at the high school, and drove around after the water went down handing out work gloves and masks for people cleaning up.
It was one of those tragic events when you could see how good people can be.

That’s the issue. We are expecting upwards of 2 years worth of rain in some places in the next 48 hours. Fire scarred areas will have mud and landslides. And places out here are not made for that amount of rain in that short time. Expecting 8-10 inches up in the mountains which will flow down to the valleys causing slides along the way.
Also concerned about sustained loss of electricity.
Just heard they are evacuating Catalina Island, which they should. But that’s a big deal out here.

I didn't sleep a wink Friday night. I knew it was coming into the house, I just didn't know when. Had to be boated out, unfortunately after a foot of water had already come into the house. Horrible in every way.
We were lucky. It rose within 3 inches of the house. It was flowing from the back, and rising on the road in the front. As it rained and rose, I didn't sleep, and I took about 20 shits in 30 hours. I spent the early morning moving everything we could upstairs. Things that were too big, I put on blocks in case water got in. We were an island by the time it leveled off. But so many got it really bad, I can't complain at all. We had decided earlier in the week to move away from BR, it was a definite confirmation of making it happen soon. We were in Tennessee by October.

To be fair, a storm like Tropical Storm Allison that devastated Houston would absolutely destroy Southern California and Las Vegas. They don't have the infrastructure to handle water like we do on the Gulf Coast.
