His dad was in diabetic coma when he got home.

quote:

A 7-year-old boy in South Carolina was on a mission to save his father, when his former elementary school teacher found him biking along a busy highway and offered to help.

quote:

he had returned home from a day of second grade on Wednesday when he found his father on the kitchen floor, unconscious from diabetic shock, and knew that he needed to take immediate action.

quote:

When Cameron went to dial 911 on his father’s phone, but said he was locked out of his dad’s cell. And when the little boy went over to his neighbors’ houses, nobody was home. “So I got on my bike and tried to ride to my grandma’s,” Cameron explained.

quote:

the 7-year-old was able to provide helpful directions to get Sutherland and the first responders to his father’s house, where his dad was given the injections he needed. A pack of crackers that Sutherland had on hand then helped Cameron’s father come to and normalized his blood-sugar levels.

Kids are amazing, this little guy was determined and made shite happen. He’s going to do great things, I hope his father uses this as a lesson to make sure to watch his health to avoid this going forward, he needs to see that little dude grow up!

This is why you don't get rid of your land line. This kid is a true hero, though.

Or just press the emergency call button.... Or learn that you have more than one neighbor.

If that were my son, I’d be dead on the floor as he played Xbox and wondered why no one was making pizza rolls.

Decent argument. What if the kid doesn’t know his address or capable of providing directions?

Landline phones provide an accurate address when dialing 911. Mobiles not so much. Technology used in 911 call routing is 50 years old and didn’t account for mobile phones.

I thought phones never locked you out of dialing 911...?

No cell phone locks you out of calling 911.
He was just too young to know that.

He made it happen anyway.
Good job kid!

Sounds like you’re a shitty parent. Time to re-evaluate how you’re raising your kid.

If his name would have been “Kameron”, it’d have been in the dad’s obituary.

I was thinking the same

In the pic though..."Teacher saves students Dad"...did she really in the overall story??

But if mom isnt in the story, and teacher is single....this could be the most elaborate "kid hooks dad up with hot teacher" story. Ha.
