1) Houston gets paid back by Louisiana for sending Katrina refugees back home.

2) Could not guess which way the transition was going without the text

3)

and Momma said she'd keep bringin' me food but she drew the line at buying me a double burial plot.

(I'm going towards Hell for that last snark.)

I mean, cool I guess, but when you get to a certain level of fatness, all people can use to tell your gender is your haircut anyway. Why bother?

Shae from Charenton was on a couple years back.

Works(ed) at NI Wal-Mart and now wears barretts in "his" hair and paints fingernails.

I did.

Actually some interesting things. From Pineville. Abandoned by mother along with other siblings at young age. Identified as gay until younger brother died at 21, then became transgender I guess? Younger sister and friend helped eventually lose the weight and get the surgery. Moved back to Pineville at the end of the show.

Not at one time did I view Destinee as a man. Not once. It was interesting.

That's who she is then so be it. She wasn't isn't saying she felt this way at 6. I actually gained respect for her throughout the two hrs. Obviously has hardships as a child, found her lane, doesn't seem to be hurting others, so okay, who am I to judge? Even though I will.

Eta: to be clear, she is still a man I think. I don't think she has had any kind of that surgery

If they hadn’t said she was trans, I never would’ve guessed. Men don’t normally have that much cellulite, even at 660 lbs. it was interesting.

KALB story

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - An Alexandria woman is telling her story of growth and triumph after starring in a show that has helped changed her life.

Destinee Lashaee is the first openly transgender woman to be featured on the show.

Due to a contract, she signed with TLC, KALB is not permitted to show photos of her after the show or mention the name of the show.

Several things, including the death of her brother, led her to struggle with weight gain. Eventually, she and her loved ones knew that a change in eating habits was necessary in order for her to live to see some of the most important milestones in her and her family's lives.

"Ever since that day my brother passed away I just gave up on life,” Destinee said. “I just didn't want to live anymore so I said if I eat myself to death maybe that'll be a fast way for me to go."

Now, she, her family and friends are hoping that people can take away an important lesson from her journey.

"Maybe this can change somebody's life,” said her dad, Wayne Compton. “And I hope that it does. And just realize that the things you do in life, you have to answer for."

Same. I'm not hater but I love to joke about it but can also speak the truth. she earned my respect (not that it matters) and I'm happy she seems to be getting her life in order.

Didn't seem to have one mean bone in her body to be honest.

Problems started because white Momma's family wouldn't accept biracial kids.

Dad wouldn't accept gay son

then death of half-brother

That's the most mobile 675lb person I've ever seen.

I occ watch the show and can’t imagine how people get so big and how horrible it must be not to be able to move. First time I watched it I was almost 140 # and it freaked me out. Now 123 and feels better.
