Its been a slow decline to the bottom since integration.

Are you saying that the black community's exposure and acceptance within the white community caused this?

I’d rethink continuing with the Late Night hype event.

Forced exposure, created entitlement. Allowing black folks to accept lower standards than are heaped on everyone else. Then, we turned around and praised it.

Nature rules, modern sociology drools.

Great Society came at the same time and royally fricked the black family unit.

Why didn't social, educational and welfare programs also destroy the white family unit?

I used to think like you- that this all lays at the feet of LBJ... until it dawned on me that several people groups, given the same opportunities, react in completely different ways as other people groups.

That, to me, says that not all cultures or subcultures are the same... which is fine- but to act like the black community is put upon by separation, AND put upon by integration, disadvantaged by pre60s America AND disadvantaged by the solutions post 60s America... it makes no sense.

At some point you have to realize external factors only account for so much. All people groups have had positive and negative external factors... some thrive, others devolve- not only devolve, but do so with an ignorant, arrogant pride that defies belief.

Sounds like animals that have no resource but to react... I hate to think this is true.

Well, thats generally what we've done. Create a subset that is literally wards of the State.

Living off the State and the black market, there's nothing to really hold them accountable like the rest of us.

the black community does itself a huge injustice, and has ruined several generations of blacks because of the victim/reparation mindset, yes, that was a bad time in this country but it's long been over, opportunities for blacks have been abundant for decades but a lot seem to think they don't need to lift a finger to help or better themselves, just keep financing me because you owe it to us

What holds other people groups accountable?

We are all subject to the same rights, privileges, laws and natural order... it isn't like someone is forcing whites, or others to be "accountable".

When your commander is going to get told if one of your kids is at risk of flunking out, or for discipline incidents, it tends to make parents real interested, since they could article 15 the parents if it got bad enough. And overseas, they could hold base housing over their heads for their kid's behavior, too.

Of course that was the 80s in the Navy, I'm sure it's gotten looser.

And I posit that it is not LBJ's or any other white person's fault... This problem wasn't 'created'... what WAS created was the freedom, time and space for Black America to become what they so desired to be. And apparently, they have.
