The food is so good that it's worth the risk of being robbed at gun point or murdered.
You can spin your stupidity all you want, but you got called out for being a dumbass in that thread.
You wording was about Nola not being all that special of a food city and not any better than others it's size. We quickly realized you are just a jorts wearing redneck who's idea of a trip to Nola to eat involves visiting Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co. and Hard Rock Cafe while drinking hand grenades.
And no about of good food or other great culture attractions can make up for having these little cock roaches running around robbing and shooting people. It sucks and we know it.

Don't wear jorts. Have been called a redneck by another redneck which I thought was weird. Never eaten at Bubba Gump's in NOLA. Never been to Hard Rock in NOLA (Orlando, yes). Don't drink cheap liquor drinks in chinese made plastic containers so no, I've never had a hand granade.
I've enjoyed NOLA every time I've been though. I don't walk around the city at night so I'm good. I did walk from Port of Call back to my hotel one time. I didn't feel unsafe as there were 8 of us and it was only around 9pm. I did accidentally walk into a gay bar down on that end. A dude with angel wings on and no shirt said "Don't leave, we don't bite" as I exited after realizing what I had done. Had I known it was a gay bar I wouldn't have minded but the dude with the wings caught me off guard.

A 35-year-old man was walking in the 1600 block of Pauger Street when the three armed men approached him. They demanded his money, police said, and took off with $500 in cash, heading toward the river on Pauger Street.
Homie, why are you walking around with $500 in cash?

Classic NOLA crime thread victim blaming
Everyone knows you shouldn't be on the streets after dark without a bodyguard. -NOLA homers

I'm not blaming shite. I think it's a valid question to ask why someone would carry that amount of cash on their person.
Was he on his way to a drug deal and just got robbed along the way? That would be a terrible irony.

Someone needs to start a company that provides bodyguards.
I wonder if a security company could put armed guards to stand around Jackson Square after 10pm to walk people back to their cars or over to the Marigny? For a fee, of course.

Only a matter of time until they pick the wrong person to rob and they end up in a morgue
This is what needs to start happening. Obviously they are targeting people who look to be at the least risk of fighting back, but I bet if more and more reports start to surface about people getting killed because they tried to rob someone.. it might cause a few to think about doing it.
