The NOPD is worthless and corrupt as them all.

re; your stat about Hell's Angels yesterday, I was approached by a young man as I was leaving a club in BA one nigt a few years ago, clean cut, wearing a suit, drove a Lexus, he could tell we were 'Mercans lokking for a cab, introduced himself and offered to take us back to our hotel and be our transportation and bodyguard for future trips, he was a HA, martial arts expert, spoke better English than we did, took him up on his offer, he's been like a body guard, tour guide, interpreter, you name it, very cool entrepreneurial young man

Someone is going to come along shortly to tell you that you're living your life in fear and you're letting the criminals win yada yada yada, but you're right. Are you likely to get mugged in New Orleans? No, of course not, but for many people it is simply not worth the risk. You can enjoy yourself elsewhere with significantly lower violent crime rates, and I really don't blame someone who does.
