Most likely.... she shook/beat/whatever her baby into a comatose state, she panicked, concocted this whole story, burned her baby then called the cops.
If true, she should die a VERY SLOW, VERY PAINFUL death. As soon as possible.

According to the Natchitoches Police Department, the boy was kidnapped from his mother on Tuesday night. The mother had opened her door after a knock, and two suspects sprayed her in the face with what she believed to be Mace.
She escaped the suspects, but soon discovered that Levi was missing.
He was found just more than an hour later in a fire that had been set beside a railroad track of Breda Avenue, about a mile-and-a-half away from the trailer park on the La. Highway 1 Bypass from where he was taken.
Levi was in critical condition with "obvious burns" to his body, according to police.
He died early Wednesday at a Shreveport hospital.
The investigation, being conducted by the Natchitoches Police Department and the Louisiana Office of the State Fire Marshal, is continuing.
Smith remains in jail.

There's just a huge gap in this story that will eventually come out. No one just knocks on a random RV's door, maces someone, takes their 6 month old and burns it. I know the world is a fricked up place but I hope it's not that fricked up. Holy hell........

There is literally no kind of torture or suffering that woman could face that I would say was over the line. She needs to die in the slowest most painful way possible. Like "Law Abiding Citizen"esque times 1000x.

I don't think the baby actually died until it was at the hospital.
Either way...they will autopsy the baby and should be able to see any signs of shaken baby.

KATC so far is the only outlet to say she's the baby's mother
if she is that child's mother... then...
A) she loves Irish wang
B) her genes are awfully recessive
C) she's more coo-coo than a German clock
ETA: C is true no matter if she's that child's mother or not
