I didn’t realize until last night after a convo with a family member who works in a hospital that every positive test is counted even if it’s the same person testing positive.

and people like you with limited foresight/intelligence are why we can't have a rational conversation about anything other than locking down society

I refuse to shut down my business again. I’m already playing from behind for the month of June. I won’t do this again.

The other side of the argument is there are a lot of healthy elderly people that are falling to depression due to isolation

They should put a protest together since it doesn't spread during protests. Well, as long as they are protesting the right thing.

Definitely can’t happen if the majority of people are irresponsible

These phased openings would have been more productive if everyone took care of themselves & those around them. Just my opinion.

Nothing was ever meant to go from extreme to extreme. That’s the wrong way to look at it.

The economy isn’t coming back in a snap

The virus isn’t being wiped out in a snap

But neither is going to happen if people continue to act like nothing is going on.

The same people that cried about their business being shut down are the same ones not giving a shite now. Lol making it political which is hilarious

You can lock down the entire world for 5 years and when you opened back up, if there was one case, it would just spread all over again. It’s going to spread. We can all go broke locked in our houses, or we can live our lives and be almost entirely unaffected.

I do think they are trying to avoid him having to debate. The man is clearly going senile.

The state cleaned up all 1600 duplicate positive cases
/sarcasm

At my Grandpas nursing home you must have 2 negative tests to be moved from Covid hall
Just in nursing home settings that’s a lot of duplicate positives

They are now also testing all negative residents on a weekly basis

that's somewhat irrelevant b/c the spread would ultimately get us right back here. we cannot control spread of this virus without shutting down society. all you can do is, maybe, drag it out but even then you'll still have spikes.

we never reached "extreme" levels on the re-open

Just put in our PPP forgiveness paperwork.
It bought us some time but until everything is back open we are going to struggle.

The phased openings were effective, but the longer it drags on the more safe people feel for some reason.

Memorial Day, summer vacation, parties

I can only speak for New Orleans but the majority of the people aren’t even trying.

never said we did But that sounds what you are pushing for?

“It’s not going away so we might as well re open everything”

Right, but society can function almost fully until then if people were responsible.

i don't disagree but the focus of how we should see this crisis is how we can affect others, not how it affects us

if you can't do that, then your opinion is irrelevant to the conversation

not really, it's more of a mindset

thinking you can control spread without locking everything down is silly
