Only thing worse than Florida trash invading New Orleans is Texas trash. Thank you to the La State Police who took out the Texas trash last night.
WWL-TV
Five innocent bystanders were shot in the incident at Tulane Avenue and Elk Place. Bursey, 32, was approached by officers as a possible suspect in a pair of armed robberies before the shootout in the Central Business District.
Of the other five gunshot wound victims, three have been released from the hospital and two others remain in the hospital after undergoing surgery.
None of the victims had injuries that were considered life-threatening. The NOPD said Sunday night that it hadn't been determined if the victims were shot by bullets fired by the suspect or police or a combination of both.
The conditions of the five innocent bystanders were released by police Monday afternoon.
- 17-year-old black female sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg and underwent surgery. Still in the hospital.
- 34-year-old black male sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm, and upper abdomen. He was still hospitalized and listed as critical but stable.
- 37-year-old Hispanic male suffered a gunshot wound to the left shoulder. Released from the hospital.
- 33-year-old black male suffered a gunshot wound to the right elbow. Released from the hospital.
- 32-year-old black male suffered a gunshot wound to the right hip. Still hospitalized.
According to an incident report, the shooting started when an undercover NOPD detective identified Bursey at the corner of Canal Street and Elk Place and called for a uniformed officer for backup.
When they responded, Bursey allegedly open fired at the officer who could not shoot back and called for more officers on the scene. When they arrived, the shootout ensued that injured the bystanders.
Bursey then ran off, police said. He was chased down and was found hiding in bushes outside Tulane Medical Center. NOPD and LSP officers told Bursey to come out of the bushes and he fired again. That's when police said they returned fire, hitting him. EMS arrived and took him to the hospital, where he died from his wounds.

I would like to make a law that says if you have Facial Tattoos that you should go immediately to Jail and do not collect $200. Those who go this route automatically seal their fate as idiots and there nothing that can be done to rehabilitate a mental moron like this back into society.

Happy the guy is dead, but anytime the article states not sure if the others injured via criminal or cops gun the cops shouldn’t have been shooting. Cops shouldn’t shoot with bystanders around. It worked out, relatively speaking

My friend is a tattoo artist in baton rouge with a face tat. And I guarantee he made more than you did last year.

I don't know how you could have prevented this one because the guy was hiding in shrubbery by Tulane Medical Center and waiting to ambush the cops. It wasn't a situation where you could have prevented bystanders from being shot up from what I've read. This nitwit had a deathwish and he just started spraying bullets everywhere.

Probably moved to Houston as a kid after Katrina. Then found his way back to a New Orleans to continue being a sterling citizen.

Unless he made over $750k last year I would say he probably doesn't.

Fun fact, if you are one foot off of hospital property they won't collect you and take you inside. EMS has to bring you to them.
I was at Parkland Hospital in Dallas when there was a major auto accident just outside the ER entrance. The hospital folks all came outside and watched as the ambulances loaded the injured and drove them the fifty yards to the entrance. "Liability" rules the day.

Sub Mexicans for blacks and you have Louisiana except the Mexicans work.

Someone from Houston went to New Orleans and committed a crime!?!
That’s a real flip of the script.
