57 clergy credibly accused of sexually abusing minors in NO area

This list was released by the archdiocese on Nov 2. It includes 34 clergy whose allegations may not have been previously disclosed. Was shocked to see my former priest, Howard Hotard named. Wondering if others were also surprised by revelations on this list? Haven't seen much reaction to it anywhere, so wanted to post it here.

Nobody in South LA wants to believe Priests rape children. They'd rather hide it to protect their beloved church and let more children get hurt

Post-1993, if a priest is abusing children, nobody goes to the bishop. They go to the police.

Looks like most of those guys were gone as soon as the diocese found out. So in New Orleans at least, there wasn't a Boston-like system of shuffling known predators to other parishes and covering up their crimes.

I know the abuse has been going on a long time but it always is shocking to see the numbers like that on paper. for some reason i normally view it as some kind of new thing. I was involved with the Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi when the whole Marciel Maciel scandal came out but I never really saw that many on paper that far back.
