Yet, if any journalist was to actually ask the mayor about any of this, the mayor would go out of their way to ruin their career

Crazy that insurance won’t pay for the impound cost

You mean predictable? Insurance is as big of a racket as the carjacking rings.

How are they going to?

She only gives interviews to a small black owned radio station that lobs nothing but meatballs across the plate to her.

It is actually unreal that she is able to get away with this.

Or you can buy a manual transmission car. The carjackers have no idea how to drive a stick. The carjacking on Audubon st Sunday was unsuccessful bc the car was a stick.

You think getting assaulted, possibly shot, removed from a vehicle, but they don't get away with the car is "unsuccessful"?

That's a life altering crime whether they get the car or not.

Of course, to the Soros DA's, it's not.

A gun is just nearly worthless in these situations unfortunately.

You're chances of survival go WAY down if you try to defend yourself when it's 2 or 3 vs 1 and at least one of the criminals has the drop on you.

That and the car gun doesn't really help unless you literally drive with it in your hand. If it becomes obvious that you are about to get carjacked it's way too late to retrieve it.

Basically your best chance of survival if you pull your gun is that the assailants get spooked and book it. How likely is that when people pulling guns and shooting each other has been a part of their lives since birth? You'll most likely lose a firefight.

The best course of action is to move away from shithole orleans parish.

I think about it all the time. My wife doesn't want to move.

The market is crazy right now so I could get a nice dollar for my house...but then I have to buy one in JP which is astronomical, and my house isn't that far from being paid off.

Same issue. Can transfer to another office but wife doesn't want to move out of the state. With semi-remote work being a possibility the Northshore is looking better and better, but not ready for the suburban life yet. It's a pickle.

This. The criminals aren’t moving out, so I will.

There is absolutely no reason you should feel like every time a car gets up behind you that they may jump out and try to take yours.

BTW, where's that Sao guy who was previously trying to argue these numbers were "insignificant."

To add to my post, brandishing a gun will probably make the criminals even MORE likely to shoot your arse because you just showed them something way more valuable to them than your car.

A stolen gun >>>>>> a stolen car

Anyone who isn't a liberal or criminal needs to leave Orleans Parish while they still can. That place is about to fall off the cliff and you do not want to be living there when it finally collapses.

The crime has not really affected us in our neighborhood so we’re not looking to move. The only way we would leave is if there was an uptick of home invasions in my area. There’s about a dozen restaurants/bars and 2 grocery stores I can walk to from my house, never have i felt threatened walking home from dinner at night. I don’t think these carjackers are looking for a grand Cherokee and a tundra either.

Nah it’s fine, I’ve got to wear a mask to go buy milk. We are totally safe now.

I don't necessarily disagree with your underlying point about the risk of pulling a gun on two approaching carjackers, but I just can't imagine they would be processing this much information upon being confronted with a gun wielding driver.

I think with even the most hardened street thug, that's when pure self preservation will kick in, which as you suggest may be a situation where the driver suddenly becomes much more likely to be a shooting victim.

That's why you're more likely to get shot. Not because they suddenly think, 'hey I might get a gun out of this.'

None of the liberals from the advocate would dare suggest that a black female democrat wasn't doing a stellar job at anything.

Alternatively, everyone who isn't a liberal or criminal could move INTO Orleans Parish in an attempt to save the State's largest and most important city?

To me it’s uptown or GTFO of the state for good, no old Metairie and sure as f not looking to move to the north shore.

My main point, which I probably didn't convey properly, is that the average citizen's heart rate and adrenaline will be through the fricking roof when presented with this situation whereas the street thug probably isn't as amped up as the potential victim. They have been around this shite and it ain't new to them.

The one guy you pull on in front of you might jump into flight mode but the one or two behind you probably won't.

The only way to salvage that place is to let it burn to ashes then rebuild.
