Out of control crimes such as this occur in places with weak local government where the criminals know there are little or no consequences for their actions.
It will only spread to cities where these opportunities exist, and they know they have found a perfect place for their activities in New Orleans for the reason already stated.

I agree, but this is happening across the country and will continue to expand. You have Democrats on a national level that have no problem cheating their way to election wins and now they have the soros / gates / zuckerberg groups that pump a ton of money into these local races. They put progressive politicians in charge who don’t give a shite about the cities and only pushing an agenda.
Residents then flee these cities and move to suburbs / new areas and the problems expand and persist.

This will only stop when a carjacker becomes a " victim " of the 2nd Amendment.

Two shot and killed in the “good” part of Metairie around 9:00 last night in my hood. The little car thieving gang hit right off Metairie Rd three times in two days last week.

There are threads on r/NewOrleans totally perplexed by this crime wave.
The one on Jason Williams and people just totally confounded about why him being DA might be connected to this is particularly funny. They all supported him and "bail reform" and don't see a connection
