Definitely yes. I just had mine last October and had a blast. I was on the planning committee so I got to reconnect with a lot of classmates. Yeah I wasn’t close to all of them, but I was close to some and I’ve lost touch and it was great to see some of these people again.
I will say I’ve been to all of my reunions, but it’s kind of like going back into a time warp. No matter who you are now or what you’ve accomplished you kind of morphed back into that persona.
So you’ll at least be 68 years old. How much more time do you think you have on this earth? One of the most sobering aspects of attending the reunion is the number of people that have died. It was also sad to see his number of people that just didn’t care and didn’t want to come.
Don’t second-guess it go and reconnect and live those memories!

For those of us who enjoyed high school, the 50-year reunion was great. Time has a way of evening the playing field. All the big studly jocks and wimpy nerds somehow made it to the same phase--grown-arse people with aging bodies and a better appreciation of life's ups and downs. I talked to some people at the reunion that I never did in high school. It was enlightening. Just surviving till the 50th is a great accomplishment.
Great post Liquid

Why do so many folks here talk about high school like it was the worst time of their lives? Were you bullied? A loner with no friends? Not involved in sports, band, clubs?
I don’t long for my high school days or live in the past but I have good memories and still have a couple of close friends that I’ve known for 50 years.
I moved about two hours away after graduation for college and then had a family, etc., but I stayed in touch with several classmates and have been to every reunion, 10th through 40th. Had a good time. It’s one night every 10 years.
Genuinely curious why the negative attitude about it.

Go!
A great chance to share memories.
Will be the last time you see many of them.
I helped plan mine and the planning meetings were great.

Why does this seem to be a reemerging thread? How many grown arse men need to ask the internet if they should go to their reunion or not?
To find out experiences other had. If all experiences were terrible it will influence decision and vice versa. Sort of like asking if anyone has visited a restaurant. I don’t need the OT to tell me to eat, but if they have had bad experiences at a particular place then I’d be less likely to go.

2 years away from 50th. Moved 15 miles away, 31 years ago and rarely see a classmate, Probably won’t attend. Have not seen the majority of classmates in 48 years. The handful I see are just casual acquaintances. Life changes after high school.

At 50 years you will think you look the same but they won't. I went to 50. I won't go to 60. I moved away and did my thing. Many of them didn't.

I had a terrific time at my 50th.
We had 168 in our class and 44 had died. That was sobering to say the least.

I have no interest in attending reunions.

I never understood HS reunions. Who gives a frick? If you were friends, then I’ll stay in touch. If not, it’s like meeting a bunch of strangers.

I went to the 10- and 30-year reunions.
At the 30-year reunion I finally realized that other than spending 4 years in the same school, I no longer had anything in common with these people.
I have much more in common with the people I worked with for forty years, so I make an effort to meet up with them.

My 50 yr. reunion fell in 2020 with the onset of the COVID debacle. They postponed it for a year and then postponed it again and that was all I heard about it.
I have no clue if it ever came off, not that I planned to attend. I did the 5 year and 10 year reunion and the 5 year was well attended and by the 10 year reunion probably about 1/3 of the class turned out.
I figured the 50 year one could probably be held in a VFW type hall since this was well after Katrina and many people scattered to the wind and I feel pretty sure there were more than a fair share of guys dying in all that time. I personally knew of a dozen or so that had died-----heart attacks, cancer, auto, boat and motorcycle accidents.

Yes but only if you missed your chance with a few chicks. Otherwise, no. Who gives a shite?

Sure…why not? I didn’t attend my first couple, but recently attended my 40 and enjoyed it. From about 40 on, all of the competitiveness seems to be gone.
This will more than likely be your last one. My planning folks always plan a few days worth of events, which is a little much for me, so I typically pick an event that seems kinda casual (like a crawfish boil) and just attend that.

Our first "official" reunion was our 40th. I think 11 of the possible 17 made it.

I've never been to any of them. There might be 10-15 people that I was close with out of 200. Our 30th is next year and I doubt I'll go.
