5 yr Old Generator Never Been Used - Anything I Need to Check?

I bought a generator during a tax relief weekend 5 yrs ago but never have needed to use it. I never put fuel or oil into it. Basically still in the box. Anything I need to be aware of?
Also are there any good website calculators for what u can power given the power capacity of your generator?

Probably if it runs

You’re going to have to put oil and gas in it to run

If it sat for 5 years without being run, I highly doubt you’re going to be able to get it to run without pulling off the carburetor and cleaning it first
Good luck
Completely blew past the sentence where he said he never put oil/gas in it

Should be fine. I’d suggest non ethanol fuel.

Even with it never being used?

If you have run it at least once then try to start it if it doesn’t start take the carb to get it cleaned. I’ve had this issue before as the gas will gum up the carb.

No, he clearly didn’t read your post.
Put the fuel and oil in and it should run. Obviously, you need to do this today before you actually need it.

This is incorrect.
If never used, the carburetor is going to be perfectly clean and will flow and distribute fuel as intended. The only concern of a new motor sitting unused for a long time is the drying out of things like seals. But I doubt even that will be an issue.
Put oil in the thing. Put some gas in it, and let er rip. Should crank right up.
For proper storage of a generator, always let the motor shutoff by running out of fuel. Meaning run it until all fuel is empty. Don't leave any fuel in the carburetor or fuel lines because it will get all gummed up and that will make it hard or impossible to start next time without cleaning.

If it’s never had fuel in it? The generator is essentially still in the box.

Google and get specs on the appliances you want to run. Then you have to prioritize. Number one for me is a fridge with ice maker. Second would be a box fan. Give me those 2 things and and no power is no big deal given if I can keep getting gas. Portable AC is nice but draws a lot of watts hence the box fan. Get an ice bag to stay cool.
DANGER! Run it outside in a well ventilated area and run a heavy duty extension cord with it. Carbon Monoxide will kill you. Wimpy extension cord can catch on fire on burn down your house. Get a carbon monoxide monitor/ alarm as well to make sure it’s not drifting into your house some freaky way. Very cheap like a smoke alarm.
Read the instructions well. Generators are very hazardous.

Yes, don't put it inside while using.

Impossible for gas to gum up the carb if it’s never had gas in it.

Generator will be fine. What’s the wattage on it?

Yep what this guy said. Spend good money on good extension cords rated for high wattages. Find out what your refrigerator draws and make that the minimum.
I have one of these for every appliance I want to run LINK
If it's not raining run it outside.
If I have to run mine while it is raining I leave it my metal shed, doors somewhat open, and I just hold my breath while going to turn it off and check on it.

4500 W
I have a covered patio on my back porch so I just planned to put it out of the way under it. I assume that’s well ventilated enough.
