Where is the dad in this whole situation?

Her reasons are her own business.
Also, I think people in general are way too flippant about who their kids spend time with.
100%
I think some of her reasons are a bit trite, but my daughter has a friend whose dad is a gun nut and I've seen guns easily accessible in his house. I won't let her spend the night there. Call me a pussy, I don't care. I know she won't touch them, but I'm not comfortable with her being in a home where guns aren't secured away, or at the very least hidden from plain sight.
That said, she's only been invited once to spend the night there and we already had plans so it really hasn't been an issue to address. And they're not as close as they were a couple of years ago, so I don't see it becoming one.

1) Disagree, but I would want to know if the house I send my kids to had a gun and if it was locked up.
2) Agree
3) Agree, people who scream at their kids are trashy.
4) Agree, don't want my kids around somebody who is getting blitzed while my kid is there.
5) Agree

Yea I mean if the guns are locked up and only the parents know the combo to the safe, then your kid can't logically become a statistic unless the parents are idiots.
Her kid could just as easily say she's going to Tommy's house, then Tommy and her kid go to Matt's house, where his parents have guns sitting around

I think you may be spot on with that.

One reason why you won't have to worry about your kid spending the night at anyone else's house.
1. You.
1. You.

I agree with this and I wonder why we needed an article to say you might not want your kids spending the night at someone's house if dad is a drunken racist who screams profanity at his kids.
It seems like a water is wet type article topic and we could figure this out without you.

By chance, do you recall this happening a 2nd time?

And I bet the buddy never did again.
I come from a house where I learned a lot of lessons via the belt, or whatever was handy for my dad in absence of a belt.
I probably did the same thing your buddy did at that age....I think I smarted off to my mom exactly one time in front of my dad. That mistake was never made again.

If she didn't write the article how would you know how great of a mom she is?

I would be uncomfortable with my 8 year old spending the night at his friend's house when his parents kept a gun in the house. Unless the parents could convince me it was properly stored and kept safely away from the kids.
The swearing thing would annoy me, too. I don't want my kid to sound like he just came home from pirating on the high seas.
I wouldn't want my kid around a parent who screams at their kid, either. Disciplining is different than verbal abuse. But to broaden that, I wouldn't want my kid around an abusive parent of any kind.
The drinking thing is less of an issue for me other than it makes you incapable of caring for your kid and my kid if something happens while they're there.
I, too, don't want my kid around a parent who flings the n word around.
All of these actually seem reasonable to people who are parents.

Well, she didn't list "because you've previously been convicted of child rape," so I'm not 100% she's as protective of her kids as she claims.
That seems like a reason I wouldn't want my kids go on a sleepover, but hey, it's her article.

she needs to be honest with herself that no one wants her weird arse kid at their house overnight anyways so sure you can write in your mommy blog about something that probably isn't ever going to happen.

Most of them don't need enumerating in a post. They are just common sense. Unless you are into virtue signaling and pointing out how great of a person you are.

I have a feeling her kid has no friends, because mom is just a raging psycho.
Posted on 10/9/19 at 10:29 am to pioneerbasketball
With a mother like that, it's likely nobody is asking that kid for a sleepover anyway.
I bet if push came to shove this mom isn't letting her kid go stay with transgendered couple with the adopted kid down the street no matter how much virtue signaling she does.
