You don't understand economic risk Roger and you never have. Have you ever looked at corporate finances.
Do you know anyone with their CFA? Do you know anyone that works in the commodities markets?
Do you understand capital expenditures?
Do you know anything about cash flows and how they effect credit rating?
Do you understand geopolitical risk?
Do you understand the volatility and how it affects futures markets/derivatives?
Do you understand corporate guidance?
Do you understand that corporations are trying to make money?
Do you know anyone with their CFA? Do you know anyone that works in the commodities markets?

Every time you post all you do is show more and more ignorance. You know why other oil producers have lower fuel costs? It’s because those governments (1) run state owned oil enterprises and (2) have put heavy subsidies on their domestic fuel costs to keep their domestic gas & diesel prices artificially low.
As for your first question, I can’t even take it seriously. Oil is a global commodity traded on the global market. It’s price is controlled by who is willing to be the highest bidder, again in the same manner as all other commodities and stocks.
And you think we can just pull our oil from that market and sell it only to domestic buyers? You think that would help bring down oil by removing close to 20% of the world’s supply from the worldwide oil market? Walk me though whatever you think passes for logic that lead you to come up with such an insanely stupid idea.

This goes waaaaaaaay beyond just the gas prices. you do realize that the administration running this company are government lifers and have no in depth knowledge of these subjects either, right?

I think it will be damaging to him. I also think it would have been a lot more damaging if not for the expectations game. People were throwing around $6-$8-$10 a gallon at the beginning of the Russia/Ukraine war and it pretty much stopped at about $4 and is only now starting to go back up.

Net rise here in Prairieville in the last 2 weeks has been $.30.
