Two weeks in Italy is the traditional 40th birthday gift.
Anything less will be viewed as evidence of your utter failure as a husband. Don't think for a minute she does not know this. She and her friends talk about this stuff at their little lunches.

I'm not even knocking on the door of 40 and going to the club makes me want to puke, but if that's what she is into I'd stay in Shreveport. Monore's "club scene" is 18-23 tops and that just makes you feel older.

Real answer: Maybe take her dancing at the club inside the el dorado. When they have a DJ it's got a club feel, but isn't full of stupid young a-hole for the most part. Might be what you're looking for?
