That’s a lot of money for a vehicle that depreciates.

I'm not even sure you can get a G550 for $40K, if so it will likely be 10yrs old and 100Kmiles.

$40k?

Don’t all vehicles depreciate?

Pretty much yes other than maybe classics or collectors type of vehicles. I have actually never spent 40k on a vehicle though.

I would try to get a deal on a Rubicon Unlimited, but I also don’t drive daily and when I do drive my vehicle it’s not outside of a 20 mile radius from my home. It’s basically a weekend vehicle. My wife has a comfortable vehicle that we take on longer trips.

Every single running 1979 Ford Pinto I can get my hands on.

Then use the remaining funds to pay a group of homeless Schizophrenics to drive them in a deadly demolition derby for my amusement.

My answer is low mileage 4 Runner, keep the change.

Carmax. I saw it about 20 minutes after it popped up on the Kenner location and had it reserved and shipped to Houston right away.

Get a 4Runner. Maintains its value and is a pretty good do-it-all vehicle.

I'd replace my Mazda3 with a newer model, a '17 or '18 Mazda3 so it'd still have the stick. Save the rest.

$43K for a 19year old Mercedes...Hard Pass

G-wagons are structurally well built, but dependability/reliability is not part of it
