There is already a shootout going on with children in the middle when one of these assholes snaps. Arming teachers is helpful but the be all End all solution. There is nothing you can do to Prevent someone from trading their life to kill others.

People killed in mass shootings make up less than half of 1 percent of the people shot to death in the United States. Why do people like you get so bent out of shape trying to remove assault rifles from law abiding citizens?
And factor in that in some of the worst mass shootings, simple semi automatic pistols and hunting rifles were used.

Well we don't want the government to be the only ones with access to those guns. Just in case we need to exercise our right to revolt. I know it feels pretty damn comfortable being a US citizen despite the chaos that we see from the media. That might change in the future considering nearly every government in the history of the world has tried to take over it's citizens.
These instances of mass shootings are incredibly sad tragedies. However, it would be far worse for an entire population to be unable to arm itself against a possible future tyrannical government.
