Four children have been found alive more than a month after their plane crashed in Colombia's Amazon jungle, the country's president has said.
The siblings, aged 13, nine, four and a one-year-old baby had been wandering alone in the jungle since May 1, when the Cessna 206 in which they were traveling crashed.
The bodies of three adults who had been with them -- their mother, the pilot and a relative -- were all found at the crash site by the army.
A massive search by 160 soldiers and 70 Indigenous people with intimate knowledge of the jungle had been under way ever since for the youngsters, garnering global attention.

I have no clue how a 13 year old managed to keep an infant alive in those conditions. truly crazy
quote:
The children belong to the Huitoto indigenous group and members of their community hoped that their knowledge of fruits and jungle survival skills would give them a better chance of surviving.
Indigenous people joined the search operation and helicopters broadcasted a message from the children's grandmother, recorded in the Huitoto language, urging them to stop moving to make them easier to locate.
quote:
Rescuers, supported by search dogs, had previously found discarded fruit the children ate to survive, as well as improvised shelters made with jungle vegetation.

They don't look very "rescued" to me.

would you feel the same way if the military members were white guys? the people have been tracking them since they found new footprints June 1st. it was an indigenous group and military members.
obviously the children are very malnourished. they've been living in the jungle for over a month.
can't even have a heart-lifting story without someone having to bring some racist shite into it.

An 11 month old has a few teeth and can eat fruit, the 13 y/o might have watched their mother take care of the younger siblings and knew how to care for the baby
Not sure if it’s fake, but it’s not that far fetched

that was a false report and was redacted. it's literally in the link i posted
quote:
Colombia's president came under criticism last month when a tweet published on his account announced that the children had been found.
He erased the tweet the next day saying that the information - which his office had been given by Colombia's child welfare agency - could not be confirmed.

Since when do indigenous tribes fly around in Cessnas?

For an indigenous person 13 years old in the jungle is the equivalent of a 45 year old man in the city.
