That just happens to be shaped like a circular rod. Ok. Like Loeb says I have to look for intelligent life in space because I can’t find any here in academia. Lol

It has happen 3 times in known history to date brother. I am not posting shite from that AI clickbait, I have been following nothing but people with PhDs etc, and no one is freaking out but everyone is saying this is one weird mfer.

We have video and photos now from sources other than Never A Straight Answer, (conveniently shut down) which is now is officially listed as an intelligence agency. (Been one from day one.)
So zero point on fighting over this shite, we will know this week

3I/Atlas really is fascinating and deserves more coverage than what its getting

Damn blossom looks like an old lady now.

This thing is very strange.

Today’s Mars flyby of interstellar object 3I/ATLAS is shrouded in mystery as NASA remains quiet during a federal shutdown.
A YouTuber known as “Dobsonian Power” captured an image suggesting unusual structural anomalies.
With NASA furloughing thousands of workers, backyard astronomers are taking matters in their own hands and putting eyes on this unprecedented event.

I hope they force the most intelligent of us to breed.
And for probes.

Anomalies that could be alleviated or explained away with upcoming data:
1. Size: The diameter of 3I/ATLAS is larger than 5 kilometers, making its minimum mass of 33 billion tons, larger by a factor of a thousand to a million than the mass of the second and first interstellar objects (as derived here).
2. Jet: The Hubble image of 3I/ATLAS showed a forward jet of scattered sunlight — 10 times longer than it is wide, pointing towards the Sun (as discussed here). A weak tail showed up only at the end of August (as reported here).
3. Unusual chemical composition: the plume of gas around 3I/ATLAS showed much more nickel than iron (as discussed here and here), as in industrial nickel alloys. Unlike solar system comets, the plume contained mostly carbon dioxide and not water (as reported here and here).
4. Polarization: the light from 3I/ATLAS showed extreme negative polarization (as reported here).
Anomalies that will remain puzzling forever:
5. The trajectory of 3I/ATLAS is aligned with the ecliptic plane of planets around the Sun to within 5 degrees (0.2% likelihood), as discussed here.

6. The arrival time of 3I/ATLAS was optimized to pass near Mars, Venus and Jupiter (0.005% likelihood), as discussed here.
7. The arrival direction of 3I/ATLAS is aligned to within 9 degrees with the “Wow! Signal” from August 15, 1977 (0.6% likelihood), as discussed here.
I hope they force the most intelligent of us to breed.
And for probes.

In Futurama
In the Futurama episode "The Problem with a Popplers," Professor Farnsworth mentions that "last time aliens invaded all they did was force the most intelligent of us to pair off and mate continuously".
He is applying the concept of the "Genius Breeding Act" as a known trope to a situation he describes, rather than creating it.

This is what I find strange. In multiple interviews, Avi Loeb has mentioned that someone he knows is betting huge against the stock market that AI/Atlas will cause a stock market collapse. Why does a Harvard astrophysics scientist feel the need to bring up shorting the stock market in almost every interview?
Posted on 10/5/25 at 7:35 pm to Tomatocantender
Because Loeb is clickbait.

If this was bad aliens coming to enslave us all and strip the planet of all its resources, do you think the aliens that have been here for thousands of years would help fight and protect us?

Even if it’s good aliens coming to bring us free energy and limitless power it would be the end of Wall Street.

quote:Like every volitional being in the universe, self-interest and the pursuit of happiness no doubt applies to space aliens as well. So if their arrival is imminent, don’t get between them and their objective. It won’t end well for you.
Even if it’s good aliens coming to bring us free energy and limitless power it would be the end of Wall Street.
But there would also be a consideration as to if they regard karma as applying to them. If so, they could very well follow moral principles and perhaps a form of the Prime Directive a’la Star Trek.
quote:
?? The Prime Directive, officially known as Starfleet General Order 1, is one of the most iconic and foundational principles in the Star Trek universe. It’s Starfleet’s highest law—a moral compass designed to prevent its members from interfering with the natural development of alien civilizations. ??
Core Philosophy • Non-interference: Starfleet personnel must not influence the social, cultural, or technological evolution of any society, especially those that haven’t developed warp drive or advanced spacefaring capabilities.
• No contact: Crews are forbidden from identifying themselves, revealing their mission, or even mentioning the existence of other worlds or advanced civilizations.
• Respect for autonomy: Even if a society is suffering or seems to need help, Starfleet officers are expected to let it evolve without external intervention—unless certain exceptions apply.
And it could be just a weird comet and this is all a moo point.
