3rd grade. No one really got it.

How horrific to see your daughter so high up and to see that. I still feel for her parents.

My band had worked the weekend at the Ramada in Alexandria. Got home early that morning and walked in just in time to watch it on TV. One thing I remember, it was cold as F in Monroe that morning.

I was in high school. My science teacher was a finalist to be the teacher. We were watching in her class. When it blew up she collapsed. The whole class was just frozen.

I was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. I didn't see it live, and when someone told me "The space shuttle just blew up," at first I thought it was some sick joke. Too bad it wasn't. It was a huge shock.

I’m surprised at how many weren’t born. I always pictured some of you as really old.

I wasn’t born either

I wasn't born yet either, still had 2 years to go. It still effected my childhood as I grew up in a household that was very connected to NASA in various ways, most notably through my grandpa.

I'm more surprised at how many in this thread were at home sick.

Watched it in my elementary school’s library. I remember asking if the astronauts were going to be okay. I was in 4th grade.

Goofing around that day. We didn't freak out as people do now. Didn't have social media to um, blow everything up into a crisis
