Watched it live during physics class as a high school senior. Teacher was upset, but us students were self-absorbed little shits so we didn't dwell on it.

Freshman year of law school at LSU. In the law library reading/studying between classes.

Paul Baier walked by the table where I was sitting, stopped and looked at me and said something like, "they are all gone."

I didn't know what he was talking about. I asked and he told me.

6th grade science class, teacher had signed up to go and didn't make it, started balling crying which was as upsetting as the crash for a bunch of kids.

I was in class when it blew up. After class got in my car and it was on the radio. I remember sitting there listening and not believing what I was hearing.

5th grade, I believe we were watching it live. If not live, a tv was brought in shortly after so we could watch what was going on.

I was 10 and home sick. They interrupted whatever show was on to show the launch, so I saw it live.

I was at home watching. My wife had taken her 2nd grade class to Stennis Tracking Center for a field trip that day. They were promptly ushered out the door!

That's what I remember the most. The kids were freaked out by the tragedy but the teachers who are supposed to be the rock of reason and sanity totally lost it that day. That really freaked us out.

I was at the Mr. Gatti's at Essen & Perkins.

I used to work really close to there and we walked over for lunch one day, and a roach crawled down the wall next to us. I picked up my stuff and walked out and left everyone I was with without a word and never went back. idk how that place survived and Mccallisters went out of business.

I don't remember seeing the explosion, but I remember it being a huge deal. I was in the 2nd grade and every boy you asked wanted to be an astronaut when he grew up. I remember there being TV specials trying to help the kids cope with this.
