I was in undergrad. Remember hearing about it and running to the student center where the on-campus pub had the projection screen tv on. :( Most everyone skipped classes the rest of the day.

Asked my then-pregnant wife to birth lennon into his next lifetime. She said no.
I suppose it was already decided. She was 3 months in by then.

On Chartres St at work trying to use a newfangled invention called a FAX via 2400 dial up baud ...I very specifically remember listening to the radio and stopping to understand what they said.

The video of McAuliffe's parents watching the launch is heartbreaking. They go from nervous pride before the launch, to complete confusion when the explosion happens, then terror when they realize there was an explosion, then utter devastation once reality sets in.

I simply can't, and don't want to imagine their emotion swing in that 30 minutes or so.

I was in the Quad (No, seriously!) when we heard about it. Ran back to Hatcher Hall and turned the TV on.

In 4th grade, it was my week to run the role or something to the office each morning, I remember running the whole way there and back to see the launch.

1st grade watching in class so didnt really understand. Knew it was bad and the teachers were all crying and hugging each other etc. Didnt turn it off though stayed glued to the TV till we went home. Biggest thing I remember was at home though...Dad was a welder and pipefitter worked at Stennis and they built the fuel tanks there which he did a lot of work on. He and the others out there were distraught not knowing what happened and thinking maybe it something they did or didnt do right that caused it etc. They were all questioned etc in the investigation. Of course turns out it had nothing to do with anything they built at all but still I remember all the worry and tension from it.

Less than an hour after the explosion. We had an all hands meeting with the big chief telling everyone to refrain from speculating as to the cause and forbidding us to speak to anyone outside of the company especially media.

Leaving the plant that day was a scene straight out of hollywood with the news media lined up outside of the gates.

I was working for a food/restaurant supplies purveyor. I had just finished up writing an order at Brady's in Hammond and was on my way to the Petro Truck stop by I12 when i heard it on radio.

I was in 2nd grade. We were watching it live. I just remember my teacher started balling crying. It was a sad day.

I was 4 about to turn 5. I was at my gradma’s because my mom was working. Don’t remember much about it other than it being on tv all day and my grandma watching it.
