That ride looks terrible. Frick Disney. Walt must be still consulting their engineers from his cryogenically frozen head. And I'm sure there are some subtle gay agenda themes on that ride as well. That's pretty awful for what they charge for admission to those parks.

Was that the entire thing? What a waste of time. I'm glad I have boys.

Edit: that's not the one in Epcot.

To be fair I would start drinking in Canada, and kind of drift between there and Germany, so the side of the world was relevant when viewing it that way (to me any way). This was before kids when the S/O (gf at the time) was working for the Disney college program at Rose and Crown in the Uk.

Shows you the pull daughter's have on their daddies to con them into that kind of a commitment. Bet a lot of them had boys too who were not pleased spending HALF THE DAY waiting for friggin frozen ride.

This is the actual ride.

It looks to be the same track. They just changed the scenery.

Enjoy this POV ride through and decide if it's worth 300 min of your life standing in Orlando mid June. My guess would be a resounding "No."

That was actually an April Fools joke that someone put up on youtube. The comments are hilarious with people flipping out on how awful that ride is.

Still looks pretty underwhelming for how much it was built up but you have to consider the age of the target audience.

Yes, it's the same track. They gutted Maelstrom down to the structure and built new attraction scenes around the existing track. They were able to extend the ride length just a bit by loading and unloading in the same area (which is the former unloading area for Maelstrom). The former loading area is now part of the ride.

Someone mentioned that they thought it would be more because of all the hype. I'm curious as to what they read or saw that made them think that. Disney has constantly stated that it was going to be a dark ride attraction. We knew that it was using the exact same track. So, based on those, this is exactly what was to be expected. And from what I've seen, the tech and effects used in the attraction are cutting-edge for a classic Disney dark ride. Any hype isn't the fault of Disney, it's due to fans and media building it up to be more than what Disney ever suggested. But, the same thing happened for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster in Magic Kingdom.

That being said, no way I wait in line that long for any attraction. I'd rather just walk the World Showcase promenade drinking and eating. But, as others have noted, the ride had technical problems all day long which is really nothing new for any Disney attraction. It always takes a few weeks to get a ride up to normal expected operating performance. The 300 minute wait time was posted when they were still taking stand-by riders. After they eliminated that the wait time did drop some...although it looked to be around 3 hours or more for most of the day.

They're animatronic figures (kind of like robots) but the faces of the people are projected onto the heads. The snowman and reindeer are full animatronics with no projection tech used.

WAIT.... so it's just Maelstrom, with the backgrounds and animatronics all changed to Frozen? Lol, so, the same boats, same track, same drops as Maelstrom, but just a different theme. Basically, Maelstrom is still there, they just re-themed it. It's not even a new ride. Disney has become lazy.

Should have just left it as Maelstrom. Maelstrom had a sense of adventure and foreboding that was really fun. RIP, Maelstrom. At least your boats, track, and drops live on.

I wonder if Adele Dizeem gets royalties every time "Let it go" is played on that ride.

Of course not but it would be nice!

And virtually nobody rode it. Disney jumped on a hot property while it was still hot. The Frozen attraction will eat TONS of people. Add to that the new Anna & Elsa meet & greet they built in the Norway pavilion and they're drastically improving the park capacity for Epcot. This will make wait times on other rides improve. I loved Maelstrom....but there were hardly any riders, no one stopped to watch the movie after the ride and the country of Norway wasn't even ponying up sponsorship $$ any longer. If I'm Disney, this change couldn't have come soon enough.

I wouldn't wait 10 minutes.

Amusement parks are my nemesis. I will never go to any Disney park. Wife can take the kids if she wants, but our family vacations will be to beach houses and lake houses, not spending a bunch of money to be in landlocked Orlando in a crowded theme park with a bunch of fat, stupid people.

No freaking way I'd waste and entire day at Epcot for that.
