What are the governor's options for this? He'll probably let it go but I'm just curious what outcomes we may see. Seems like a fairly unprecedented thing, having these parishes go against the mandate.

Thought he said in speech today that fire marshal brown shirts would enforce his executive order.

ATTENTION Food Service Industry

Two slight changes have been made to the Interpretive Memo for Outdoor Seating taking effect May 1:

Clarifying employees required to wear face coverings
Creating open space/tent capacity? Max occupancy based on 60 sqft per person, not 110

I mean how is going to force 3-4 parishes to listen? Use up all the state police force to monitor it?

Hope they have the balls to defy his dumb arse

Louisiana sheriffs have more authority than any sheriffs in the nation. They run their parish, if they tell JBE to GTFO of their parish, then I’m not sure what else legally JBE can do. Or am I way off on that assertion?

I wonder if JBE will collect the sales tax money....or if he forbids them to be open, do they even owe it?

The governor is the ONLY person who can arrest a sheriff (through the State Police). I learned that from "True Detective".

A coroner can commit them also.

To be fair... those parishes have a combined population of a hundred people.

Louisiana sheriffs

The Louisiana Sheriff's Association controls politics in this state. They hold the Governors' strings. If a few more sheriffs get on board, this thing is over.

I bet a coroner can also be disciplined in some manner or sued for improperly committing someone. Their power is very vast, but could have consequences if used in a corrupt fashion.
