Maybe the just need to keep the spectators out of the kite fight arena...
I don't think these are all orchestrated events with designated arenas. Just something kids do for fun for the winter solstice at parks or wherever.
Kinda like fireworks for us, etc.

I mean, what sort of brainiac strolls through with his kid while razor wire is flying over their heads?
This. If it happens every year, what kind of parent allows their kids around? Don't get me wrong its stupid as hell, but you could probably wear some protection like a helmet gloves, and neck guard and be fine inside the area. Then stay the hell away from the area if you aren't involved.
But lets not act like most parts of India are civilized, shite is crazy in some places.

Second, how is this event still happening?
They’re not the sissy NFL with vax issues. Kite flying is a real man’s sport.

Do you think this kite would draw enough attention in India to start a conversation on banning 'Assault Kites?'

Reason # 15,350 to not visit that shithole.

I’ve been to Gujarat for this festival. I’ve flown the kites. It’s wild. I had to tape my fingers so the string didn’t cut me up.
To my knowledge, I never killed anyone. I did cut a few poor kids kites though. Kai Po Che!

...is exactly what I'd recommend here. You can't worship elephants playing flutes and large-breasted, winged green women and shite and expect good things to happen.

Let's not get too crazy, now.

My favorite people are Indian people. Their culture, food, etc. is all unique. Their mannerisms and how they raise their kids (that we see). Fantastic people.
But there has always been such a large IQ gap between those you see here in America and the natives.
They common Indian folk in India... literally almost bush people. America only gets their best.

They should just stick to tea, Kama Sutra, and Bollywood.

Let’s attach razor sharp strings to a kite with limited control and incredibly dependent on weather conditions. What could go wrong?

I must say this is not a headline I’d thought I’d ever read

There may have not been anywhere/any more space to love too.
I had a coworker go to India for an assignment and her comment was that you never stop seeing crowds of people. The refinery was hours from the airport, like 5-6 hours and she just never stopped seeing throngs of people.

Well then maybe they need some population control via razor kites.
