And easier. Now what about grandma and granpa teachers? I don't know about you guys, but most of my teachers were older than dirt.

That poor kid is screwed for life before he even gets started.

Either work, or choose not to. It's really not that difficult.

T & Ps to the families of the 100 kids who passed away and whose lives are now being used to prove a point.

Teacher health is the current talking point.
Let kids under 15 teach in schools and manage/take care of patients in nursing homes.
It's the only way to save the human race.

I don't understand this reluctance for school. Florida for years has had 3 options. Homeschool, virtual school or standard school. Colleagues are like "schools shouldn't open...i just don't think it's safe" I then remind them that they are perfectly able to select any one of the 3 options but usually get "i know but ..." So the reality is they want people to be required to be as miserable as they are

Teachers that don’t feel comfortable and handle the online kids.
Trump, Pence, and DeVos have made it clear they want to pull funding if you don’t go to full in-person school. DeVos told Governors yesterday that they won’t support hybrid options.

From or with?
Huge difference.
Huge difference.

Wait til school starts.... Facebook will be flooded with "teacher/hero"bullshite just like the fricking nurses.
I have two sisters that are nurses and I love them, but a hospital is not "literally like a battlefield."
Chill the frick out nurses.

There isn't much Trump, Pence, and DeVos can do, considering how education is structured in this country. The Feds control a really, really small slice of local education budgets.
And there's no way Republicans will be able to pull school PPE funding out of the future stimulus bill because Democrats will be needed to pass it.

Does this include the 2 third trimester miscarriages that went down as covid deaths because mom had covid?

Federal funding is huge for ECE (special needs) students and is a big enough chunk it would likely effect up to 10-15% of district budgets. They also control CARES aid distribution.

Maybe. I know with current PPE my district had to spend half of their allotment on masks alone.

I teach K-5 SPED and really need my students to be in person this fall. They typically do not do well with online learning as they have several different learning styles. Will not be able to keep a mask on most of them, but I only have 6 students in my class, so we can comfortably socially distance in the room. The federal funding we receive is essential since district budgets are typically always low on funds.
