Also I’m jealous of y’all in yall 40s and 50s that experienced the tail end of good America

The kids in their 20s and younger have it so bad. After they get home from their shift at dei corp they’re gonna have to drink their beer through a straw while they watch Obama show on a vr headset. And none of them will have families because all the girls are vaxed

I always thought alcoholics drank to get drunk. If you have been drinking 6 light beers a day for a decade, I doubt 6 light beers will get you drunk. Are you always out with people drinking? Or are you drinking alone at your house?

It’s probably a stomach ulcer.

I doubt it is cirrhosis. It’s probably fatty liver (which leads to cirrhosis if you don’t course correct). It could also be alcoholic gastritis. Tell us what your doc says.

If that's all drinking you don't have cirrhosis.

You drink too much. But, at 27 I highly doubt cirrhosis.

Cut your sugar (about 50% fructose) intake and high fructose corn syrup (over 50% fructose) intake as well as alcohol. Fructose can only be metabolized by the liver so can lead to fatty liver/cirrhosis also.

This. Also your diet is probably not the best if you’re drinking like that, and that also does your health no favors.

You say it hasn’t affected your work but it has. Imagine having a much clearer head.

id that (or more) for 20+ years. That's not even hardcore alcoholism IMO. I'm saying you prob don't have cirrhosis just yet.

Don’t listen to this. Get checked, your bloodwork will tell the story along with some other physical tests.. it doesn’t take as long as many think especially for those with some genetic predispositions.

And just because you don’t have cirrhosis, doesn’t mean the damage isn’t beginning or harmful

Get professional help. Take care of yourself. You're getting much kinder and productive answers than if you had said I eat 7 Big Macs a week and now I'm having chest pains. Good luck to you.

There is a LOT of validity in this. Even a barroom is better than the couch. Chasin hoorers aint easy. And what happened to men's softball and racquetball? All the older Gen X and the boomers are on the pickle ball courts. Maybe they can re-brand Tab and build some hackeysack courts for the fat millennials.

Stop drinking or drink non-alcohol beer. Heinekin makes one I believe. Also, could be gallbladder as well. You should get your GB scanned

LINK

quote:

Although the average age of cirrhosis of the liver is between 40 and 60, rates for younger people have been climbing for several decades. In fact, deaths from alcohol-related cirrhosis among 25- to 34-year-olds jumped an average of 10 percent each year) from 2009 and 2016.

It probably isn't but the rates are rising fast due to sugar/ HFCS intake along with alcohol. The fructose is basically the same to the liver and doesn't have a built-in limiter like getting drunk with alcohol. People can consume huge amounts of fructose and still crave more with sugar/hfcs in practically everything these days. There are people getting cirrhosis without ever drinking alcohol.

Boy, you need AA.

75% of my friends drank like this or more from 18-mid 20s (until married). If he can stop, he should.

That said, not everyone's body is the same. You might not have the genetics to drink like this, be in the physical shape to drink like this, or both.

But you are at the age that needs to slow down or stop. I still love to drink a few martinis or scotches on a weekend night, but I'd stop today if my health was that bad.

Completely incorrect and a very sheltered perspective

I was like that and I'm happy as a pig in shite! We had a huge group of friends and we partied every weekend for years after college. Normal in bigger cities.

ETA:
But I did eventually grow up and slow down as did my friends. I recommend having a detox month then after that if you don't think you have an issue just hanging out at night at the house and grilling and drinking a bit less at a time. Don't go to bars and call it at midnight for bed.

Not going to bars on weekends because my fiance didn't want to around your age is when I really slowed down.

Be careful trying to go cold turkey. Withdrawal can also kill you.

Guys wtf

He doesn't drink 4 nights a week. He isn't going to have withdrawals, especially ones that can kill him.

This thread is absurd

That amount of booze isn't healthy, but he isn't getting wasted in the parking lot on Monday morning on cheap vodka.

You are an addict. Admit that to yourself and stop drinking.
Then the process of rebuilding your health can begin.
