It’s ok, they lift weights 3 times a week so they aren’t truly obese.

And they have been skiing once.
Everything is fine.

Weird, go to the Mountains of Colorado and they're mainly fit.

There are 330 million Americans and Colorado holds just over five million of that number.

You, like most here miss the point.
Outdoor physical activity is the main difference. Colorado has the most active population. Colorado 83.8

I play a game at WalMart to test this theroy:
It’s called “Who’s Hotter Than My Wife”
It’s really in response to a conversation we were having about how unhealthy people are- especially people who shop at Wal Mart. It is very alarming.
So far, a middle aged mom who eats right, generally takes care of herself, exercises daily- but not to an extreme, and is naturally pretty is undefeated.
Like no challengers.

Nah. You think? I work out six times a week and three of those days involve cardiovascular exercise outdoors. If people would actually exercise and get outdoors like they do in Colorado, the country would be better off health-wise.

The average child gets less outdoor time than the average prison inmate.

It’s 100% about diet.
Exercise makes a small portion of what you can do. It’s a good supplement, but diet is by far the factor.
Calories taken in can’t exceed calories burned or calories required to maintain your current body weight
Not many people who work out burn enough calories to make a difference with their weight unless you’re an athlete working out at a high intensity. It’s good for you though.
The people in Colorado whom are fit exercise and are active, yes, but they also tend to watch what they eat more than people in the south.
They aren’t eating as many high calorie fried foods and other things full of butter like we do in the south.

25% seems low TBH

Yes, but the shite most folks eat causes a metabolic death spiral. Seed oils, hydrogenated oils, sugars, and various sugar syrups make up most people's diets these days.

Get the kids outside and active and they'll not be eating all the time.

Inactivity rather than overeating could be driving the surge in Americans’ obesity, according to a study by a team of Stanford University School of Medicine researchers.
Examining national health survey results from 1988 through 2010, the researchers found huge increases in both obesity and inactivity, but not in the overall number of calories consumed.
“What struck us the most was just how dramatic the change in leisure-time physical activity was,” said Uri Ladabaum, MD, associate professor of gastroenterology and lead author of the study. “Although we cannot draw conclusions about cause and effect from our study, our findings support the notion that exercise and physical activity are important determinants of the trends in obesity.

I guess I don't know what severely obese means. I do know the obesity rate is already around 35%

Correct, the same people (corporations) that fund these studies make it easy as can be to fill your cart with total garbage at the grocery store.

Year 2000 Mississippi would be the thinnest state in the union if transported to 2022. Colorado’s claim to fame at this point is the smallest chubby in a bar of heifers.
Our entire food system should be burned to the ground and rebuilt with real consumer advocacy and protection. What we tolerate in our food is turning is all into everyone’s worst slump buster.
