Who picked out in the ocean? While I'm certain that the overall percentage of Iran location knowledgeables are, I doubt people would have selected in the middle of the ocean

The people who conducted the poll probably did this themselves to delegitimize their own poll.

Quite a few students think Alaska is an island in the Pacific Ocean because that is where it’s at on the map

Guy who works in shipping at work fully believed this. He was 24, no college, and from a shitty part of Pittsburgh. Still gets brutalized about this.

The majority of Americans are ignorant sheep.
So every American is supposed to be a geography major?

Also, based on those statistics, it is the poor uneducated that do not know where Iran is, but sure lets call them ignorant sheep.

And only 11% of those who knew were Trump rednecks.

It's a very telling exercise and topic.

Yep, 62% with a college degree and 61% who make $100K+ don’t know where it is. The poor uneducated.

This isn't that surprising. The average person isn't that smart. And it seems like its always younger people who have less geography knowledge. Do they not teach this shite in school anymore?

Not trying to be that guy, but is this really that big of a deal. I'm not sure if they are trying to say because it's Iran no one knows. If you asked them to point out Poland or Germany they wouldn't know either.

I can honestly say that I didn't know Australia was about the exact same size as Europe. I knew it was a sizable country/continent but really had no idea. I only know now because of the fires and them talking about it a ton. It doesn't make me feel bad either for not knowing that

If I thought that Iran was very near Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and we were shooting terrorists there, I'd think it was a big deal.

Agree. If you live in America you should know generally where things are in America. If you live in Iran, you should know the bordering countries.

Not knowing which country it is specifically in the middle east? Not really.

Thinking it is in the central US or the middle of an ocean. Absolutely.

Ok i agree with that. Asking where Iran is and someone pointing to South Africa or Iowa is a problem. Asking where Iran is and someone pointing to Turkey? not an issue to me really
