Several people from my town was on this flight. I worked with the father of one of the deceased. He only talked about it once and its something I will never forget.

So you're a little conspiracy theorist.

What I remember most about the incident was watching the live coverage on this brand new cable news channel, MSNBC. I recall specifically wanting to watch them because I figured it would be a great way for them to showcase their brand new multi-million studios, built with Bill Gates' money, and all of the cutting edge television technology at their disposal, coupled with the vast journalistic resources of NBC News. And since they were based in Secaucus NJ at the time, it was essentially a local story, so the entire network operation had a ringside seat to the tragedy.

Their expert analysis ended up consisting of a former airline pilot holding up a page from an atlas, pointing at it with a Bic pen.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it was accidentally shot down by a military exercise

We were in Niagara Falls (Canadian side) and I remember the MSNBC coverage for its being brand new and you could tell they were feeling their way.

Later, when the shoe bomber came on the scene, I couldn't help wonder who was sitting where over the fuel tanks on that flight.

This happened on my birthday --- and throw in the police shootings in 2016 in BR and well, I feel like it's a cursed day. (Was JFK, Jr on the 16? Think they found the wreckage on the 17 -- it was my 30th.)

As a young adult I started noticing & telling family & friends that something tragic always seems to happen during my birthday week of April 16. The 3rd week of April is now known as the “cursed week” with the most anniversaries of historical disasters/tragedies:

Lincoln was assasinated April 15
Civil War began April 12
Titanic sank April 15
96 people were crushed on April 15, 1989 when that crowd rushed the field in England
Terrorist attack during Boston Marathon on April 15
Virginia Tech massacre April 16
The fertilizer plant explosion in TX April 17
Ruby Ridge siege was April 18
Another federal siege in Waco April 19
Oklahoma City bombing April 19
Columbine High School shooting April 20
Johnson Space Center shooting April 20
Deepwater Horizon explosion April 22
The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 was April 15
The 1906 San Fransicko earthquake April 18
Bay of Pigs April 17-19
The Ludlow Massacre April 20
“Black Hawk Down” April 14

Um, no. Nobody from 3/75 was in Mogadishu in April 93. We got there in September. The firefight seen in the movie was October 3rd.
