AWD is better for 99.9999% of typical driving than 4WD and the Ridgeline's SH-AWD is one of the very best.
That said P/U drivers are one of the groups that often make vehicle and equipment choices based on the .0001% scenarios. I can't hate because my daily driver choice has always been heavily influenced by the fact an autobahn or road track might just magically pop up on my commute home.
The Ridgeline is the minivan of the P/U world. They are both the most logical for the vast majority of people looking in the segments but let's be honest most personal vehicles are bought on feels rather than logic.

I’ll say this, since I don’t have have a big ars camper or boat to haul, the Ridgeline makes most sense to me but Cmon Honda….can you redesign it where it doesn’t look like a minivan with a bed?

I have loaded 2025 Nissan Frontier Pro-X. I downsized from a full size 4WD. I didn’t use the 4WD drive enough to justify getting a Pro4X. It took a bit to get used to, but I like the truck a lot. It’s reasonably priced for a truck, well equipped, has actual buttons and knobs and has a pretty peppy V6. The only thing I’d change right now is maybe raise it up or level it. It comes way to low from the factory.

Pro tip if you have nissan 4x4, hit the hill descent control in situations that aren't that.
It'll scale a mountain with it on and the rear diff locked. It'll deal with ice quite well if you leave the diff unlocked.
It's the only electronic traction aid I've ever not hated with the fire of 1000 suns.

I was a Ridgeline naysayer for the longest time. Until my uncle bought one and I sat in it and realized how well thought out and designed it was. I eventually bought one. Still the best most useful vehicle I've ever bought. The ride is an order of magnitude better than any leaf sprung truck I've ever driven. Only reason I got ride of it was I needed more tow capacity and an SUV (Hello Sequoia). I love my Sequoia but I loved the Ridgeline more.
As long as you don't get an early cylinder deactivation model which tends to start using oil the J series motor is about as mature and reliable a platform that you can buy.

Nissan is way behind in tech, even for an Asian automaker.
Ridgeline is light years ahead of Frontier in NVH, and AWD > 4WD in that class of vehicle.
Frontier should be substantially less than Ridgeline.

I have a Colorado. 136k miles, only had to replace fuel pump.
Pulls my 14’ cattle trailer.
Gets @ 20 mpg.
I change the oil/filter every 4-5k miles.
Great truck.

Guy at work traded in his Titan for a Ridgeline. He likes it. That's about the only input I have. He said it's roomy.

The Colorados are nice. My neighbor just got a new one with the Z71 package.

Damnit. I just sold my low mileage '23 Colorado Z71. Was a very nice truck. With a company vehicle, it just sat there so I sold it.

I got the Pro4X but the rest is the same. It's a great truck.

True, but the full time auto 4wd ain't far behind and Ridgeline just looks so damn ugly.

I bought a Silverado High Country back in Jan this year. I have been super pleased. I got the small Duramax diesel and it does very well on fuel economy, I drive 40 miles each way to work and get 28+ mpg. In city I get 22-24. The High Country has just about every option you can get including SuperCruise with 3 yrs of OnStar included (needed for use of SuperCruise)
grats on the $100k truck. However, the OP asked about mid-sized trucks. A high country duramax Silverado is not a mid-sized truck

On my third Toyota Tacoma. Between the three I’ve put right at 400,000 miles.
Normal maintenance is all that’s been done. Toyota had two recalls during that time, both minor. Recalls done when brought in for oil change. The one I’m driving now, 133,000 miles. I put new tires on at 65,000.

They are great for suburbia Home Depot trips and such. Terrible for anyone that ever goes off road.

Being I get the GM employee discount the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon may be on the top of the list. The next in line is the Toyota Tacoma and the Nissan Frontier would be next. I looked at some pictures of the 2026 Honda Ridgeline and I don't care for it.
I won't be off-roading, but I will need four wheel drive for the snow. It has to be big enough for me (6') and small enough for my wife (5'2") to drive. We both like the designs of the Chevrolet Trail Boss and GMC Elevation trims.

There is still a massive gap between full time 4WD and AWD with active torque vectoring in almost all road driving conditions. With SH-AWD for example it can distribute up to 70% of the torque to the rear wheels and 100% of what goes to an axle can go to a single tire. So up to 70% to either rear wheel and 100% to either front wheel. Two places that it shines are mixed ice and heavy rain.
The times where permanent 4WD is superior is carving around the edges put this is how many P/U owners make their choices. Again no hate the number of times I need a 200mph+ car is dwarfed by the times I need a driving appliance where a Corolla or a Civic would be far more financially sound.

Can't argue with that, the heart wants what the heart wants.

With proper tires, SH-AWD is fantastic in the show and has advantages over 4WD in mixed conditions.
