Who the frick is paying these prices?
The Cadillac dealership here charges MSRP + 5k for Escalades. The waiting list is like two years long

Posted on 3/10/23 at 11:45 am to texag7
They could charge twice that.

Imagine paying $158K for a damn SUV. Absolutely asinine

Probably.
Classic example of the "Cadillac effect." They used to teach this in economics, not sure they still do.
Higher the price point, the more value it adds to certain consumers. Suckers are born every minute, and never stop sucking.

My brother in law just bought one in Dallas. The sticker say 157 but the price is 217k

Idiots laying that kind of cash down for a GM vehicle
Posted on 3/10/23 at 12:12 pm to texag7
What I hate about Cadillacs are their gear shifts: they put R at the top instead of P. Drove a loan a while back and almost wrecked the thing because the gear shift was different than all the cars I've been driving last 40 years.

I'd buy that before a Range Rover or Mercedes

If you pay that for an SUV, you are an absolute fricking moron
Posted on 3/10/23 at 12:15 pm to texag7
That’s an Escalade V, the fricks your point?
Posted on 3/10/23 at 12:17 pm to texag7
I could buy 3 perfectly decent vehicles for that amount.

If you can afford it, that would point to the opposite of a “fricking moron”. That’s not a lot for people with money. Some of y’all are hilarious

You're not alone. All vehicles have gotten WAY out of hand. A fricking Expedition or Tahoe costs you $80k these days.
HD trucks are pushing $100k. Its bat shite crazy stupid.
