I gotta admit the more monochrome picture of the convertible looks better to me.
ETA dat rake!
The more pics I see of the interior I am back to being cautious, gonna have to see it. Weird color blocks on the dash along with some of the layering.

Seems like the dash could have been continued and not had a second ipad thing glued on the dash. Merc did the same thing in their previous models and it hasnt aged well.
Also the middle wall seems kind of restrictive if you do want to touch the person in the passenger seat.
It seems like it will have a cockpit feel, which is cool.

The row of buttons baffles me, it has been a long time since I have seen a new car with that many hard buttons that also has a screen-based infotainment system. Really curious what all is housed there and how it possibly can be eyes off intuitive. But I suppose these are small nits to pick at the price point considering the potential performance.

Their market base is probably more of a button crowd and not a touchscreen crowd.

Yeah not to sure of that button wall. Guess I'll hold judgement until I see it in person. Honestly can't wait to see when the aftermarket gets a hold of them. This thing will be a beast with 7-800whp which is fairly common with the c7's after tuners work their magic.

I don’t like corvettes but this is the saddest car related shite I’ve ever read.
New vette looks slick af tho

I think they have a good seller here. I would like to see a test of equal optioned C7 vs C8 to get a baseline. Transmission being dual clutch seems like a surprise but I haven't been following closely.

Obviously, we will get a better idea when we get full instrument 3rd party tests but here are some interesting numbers:
I am going to assume the C8 'Ring times had the Z51 package.
C8 'Ring 7:18 C7 Z51 'Ring 7:33 this is a "sector time" that is pretty significant for more context a C7 Z06/Z07 has an unofficial time around 7:10 and a Z06 has an official 7:14 time IIRC.
The C7 Z51 was ~3.8-3.9 0-60 and the C8 is being reported by GM as under 3. Again significant, probably half that is the DCT/LC and the other is the increased traction via the 60% rear weight bias.

Late to this party, but it’s surprisingly not terrible. I’m sure it’s been said but the tail looks too much like a Camaro and overall it the design reminds me of the new NSX. Chevy could’ve done a lot worse here.

that looks like somebody took a Ferrari design and then modified all the curves to be angular like Lambos

There is an up close shot from C&D on Instagram. The row of buttons is all of the HVAC and heated/ventilated seat controls.
ETA: also, I really hope the gap between the tire and wheel arch in that picture above is an illusion.

That's what I was commenting on about the rake. It doesn't show up in the other pictures or the reveal video, I wonder if it didn't have the engine in the convertible.

I hope so bc man that looks cheap...like the old Toyota Spyder

I like all of it except the row of buttons. It’s just not current with today’s technology.
I am a bit mixed on the tail but I almost never like new design trends until I look at them for a few years.
This corvette will sell big.

The aim of the C8 is to lower the average age of buyers.

It’s and odd pic. The car sits right.

I know its ‘s faster, etc.
But if I am buying a sports car I want an old school manual dammit. To me it is more engaging. I’m not setting track times or anything.

The Corvette has always been one of the sports cars that buyers leaned heavily to automatics (this will be their first automated manual). Overall 78% of Corvettes sold in 2018 has slush boxes even 72% of Z06 buyers opted for a torque convertor equipped car.
It took a while but I am a convert but I do miss a good heel n toe.

Whoever purchased the car doesn't visit the OT because everyone here knows, "you never buy the 1st model year".
And completely ignored the "car buying guide" that's been posted numerous times. Never negotiate from the MSRP.
