I haven't read the thread and I'm just seeing the pictures. This turned out way better than expected! The new Vette looks bad arse!

Agree.

New versions always lower the median buyer age.

Press release says base msrp under $60,000. Haven’t seen any other specifics, but I’m inclined to believe that means base msrp of around $58k or $59k. Bargain for what you get either way I guess.

Chevy basically just killed all of Fords hype for the GT500 and Toyota’s hype for the Supra.

Supra is dead at that price.

It’s not dead but the C8 Corvette outperforms it, will likely be cheaper to maintain/get parts for, objectively looks better, and is in the same price range. If I were unbiasedly cross shopping, Corvette would be the clear winner.

My biggest concern is quality.

Looks fantastic, price is phenomenal, and the performance is there.

Highly doubtful that will be the base price. You will not be able to step onto a lot and find one under $60k. Base vettes now start at $70K.

That line was literally from Chevrolet during the reveal. Feel free to google it.

There may be dealer markups initially, but Chevy cranks Corvettes out like hot cakes, so dealer markups wouldn’t last long due to future supply.

C8 Pricing

Also, I mentioned earlier by saying “under $60k”, that likely means $59,995 + fees. So it’ll be an actual base price of a little more than $60k. Still a bargain give the performance. The base C7 is $55,900, btw. LOL at $70k.

I think he was implying you will not walk onto a lot and see it under $60k as most are well optioned. So he's saying it will "start" at $70k.

One could always order a stripper if they want it on the cheap.

There are LT1 coupes all over the place for under $60k. You can pick them up for around $51-52k and that was before the C8 announcement.

Initially, yes...but he also stated base C7’s are $70k which is not even close.

Seems like that center console would make getting road head very difficult.

I took him as saying GM said the C8 starts at $60k, but will only see well optioned cars on the lot so they will theoretically "start" at $70k.

It's neither here nor there...

That row of buttons still looks out of place. Maybe it won't be as bad when sitting inside. We'll see.

I love the new look, and it will handle better being mid engine. It will cost 1/3 of the $ as a super car also
