I wonder why the wheel is square?
Most race cars have flat top and lower wheels. Provides more room, easier egress and ingress, etc.

The bottom is flat so the wheel can be lower and you can still get in and out. The flat top is unusual (apes the Ferrari La Ferrari) and it is to keep the sight line clear over the wheel. Odd and rare but it is form following function.

They’ve made a supercar with the reliability, practicality, and affordability of a production car.

I haven't read the thread and I'm just seeing the pictures. This turned out way better than expected! The new Vette looks bad arse!
I agree. I was worried about the styling and performance. They seemed to have knocked it out of the park.
0-60 in under 3 seconds for the base model is insane. That is seriously road hugging grip.

I like it outside of the taillights. Really wish they'd get away from the Camaro looking lights and get back to round.
Performance for the base is surprising. How much cargo space?
That was always a nice perk of the Corvette.
ETA: Just saw the last set of pics with the golf clubs. The engineers know their market base

They had a 5 piece luggage set that fit in the car with ease. There’s two deep trunks (front and rear).

I think I read ~13 cu ft total, which is less than the C7 coupe but beats pretty much every one of its competitors. Frunks are all notoriously small but many of the exotics will sell you fitted luggage for an equally exotic price.

Caving to the mid engine pressure

Impressive that they have front and rear storage.
Last time I bought a sports car the C7 was a consideration, but I ended up with something else. This time, the C8 is looking really good.
Pretty sure there will be a hotter version sooner than later.

That sound you hear is the NSX being sunk further into oblivion.
Owing to their relative rarity I bet the C7 ZR1 becomes a big collectors item.

That row of buttons still looks out of place.
Looking at what is there it appears many of the buttons aren’t ‘touched’ that much during driving.

You are spot-on about the NSX, they were already discounting them, if the rumors I heard were correct.
The C7 ZR1 is just a beast. I think that Track Pack spoiler could've been juuust a little bigger.

Which seems like more reason just to incorporate them into the infotainment system. However, they must have a reason unless they just thought a row of buttons were cool.

The NSX and Alfa Romeo 4C are good bargain exotic purchases. Both can be had for cheap, both are excellent performing vehicles, values likely won’t go lower than they already are...should appreciate down the road once the market catches on.

frick no. I despise the trend of moving everything into the infotainment system. Climate control/seat warming / cooling etc should be easy access buttons.

Agree with that, but that button strip is just retarded
