That would be the Honda Pilot

Look into the safety features offered by Audi, Volvo, and BMW...the tech, the seats...seriously, don’t pay for a TRD pro just because it ‘looks sporty’...that’s just dumb.

While you're at it look into the depreciation.

Sluggish/slow V6
I have a DC TRD OR 4x4 Tacoma with the 4.0 liter V6. Is it slow? Not sure what to compare it to. It pulls my boat just fine. 135K on the clock and not one repair. Very reliable vehicle overall and the 4Runner is basically the same vehicle with rear seating. Don't hesitate on the 4Runner. Go with the package that you like the best. Can't go wrong.

Sluggish/slow V6, but bomb proof. Lack of features
It’s an SUV, not a sports car or luxury vehicle.
It’s not supposed to be fast or luxurious loaded with features.

Some of you don't know what a 4Runner is.

Went to buy a 4runner and ended up getting a used lexus gx460 instead. Got all the things we needed including a V8 and 4wd (replacing husbands truck- has to navigate the rutted out road to the hunting camp) and my 3rd row for grandkids. It is luxury but he threw his work gloves in it and hooked up the boat and never missed a beat from his truck that I can tell.

Does your wife need or even want the TRD PRO spec over the less expensive Limited? There is a lot of stuff most people (male or female) tend to like in an everyday vehicle that won't ever see real offroad included in the Limited that isn't in the TRD Pro trim.
I’m with him. Limited is a better option for most people

Bullet proof vehicles. Bought a 2003 new and sold it in 2016 for almost 1/2 what I paid originally.

I’m more of a Highlander fan

So you buy a vehicle as an investment?
I’d rather drive something safe and luxurious that depreciates like a rock than something I loathe but holds value better.

Please tell me that you need a truck to be a man.
I literally drive an F150 because most SUVs these days are trash, they have been crossovered to death. That said I wouldn't put the 4Runner in that category. It is one of the few that I would consider.

Same thing happened to me and I love my GX.

The 4Runner is absolutely unique. It is not a "crossover." It's a body on frame SUV, like the xterra, or how the Ford Explorer used to be.
There is nothing left in the market that's quite like it. And that's it's appeal. Tried and true engine, tried and true transmission.
It's not for everyone. But it may be the best built and most reliable vehicle on the road.
My wife hates it otherwise I'd get one for her.
