Well you’re the second person to bring up the TCC...
Well, those symptoms are pretty obviously tranny issues, and if you run through a schematic on it, it will almost assuredly point to the TCC.
But the only way to know for sure is to run the codes and see what they are.

So I was driving about 80mph i come to a stop and it died. I turn it back on and everything is fine in park and neutral. I can rev it all I want. I put it reverse and it acts funny and i was abled to drive it in reverse but it dies after i go like 40 yards. It dies instantly every time i put it in drive. Its a 4.6 Triton V8. I had the rear end replaced and IAC replaced a couple months ago.
Have you tried marriage counseling?

I've driven several Rams, Fords, and Chevys, and I'd take one of the first 2 over the 3rd any day. People like to shite on Ford, but there's a reason the F-150 is one of the most common vehicles on the road today, and why you still see many early 2000s F-150s on the road. The damn trucks last a long time.

See if this helps, I had an ‘03 F150 with the 4.6L V8 bought new in March of 2003.
I got to 80k miles in July of ‘05 and I traded it in on a new Avalanche.
Problem solved.

It's the coil wires. Would bet $350 on it. Had that happen to my old 2001 Expedition twice. Common issue on that 4.6 and year.

Possibly ignition issues like the ignition coils, or even a vacuum leak downstream from the MAF sensor. Both of those would also likely present off idle though.
I personally think everyone should own a $40 code reader even if you don't consider yourself a mechanic the codes and a quick internet (especially YouTube) search might reveal a quick and easy fix or at least prepare you for a wallet rape prior to it happening.

This can happen my Main Bird.
Still want my $600 tho.

Sounds like you got tranny problems and you don’t even know it.

my old 07 triton (the 5.4) was a pain the arse and always having problems once it got over 175k miles. Granted it lasted until 245k(ish) and was still driving all the way to the dealership. I don't have any guidance but I bet someone on f150forum or one of those could help you out.

That's why it seems more likely that it is the TCC or something else transmission related. The truck will idle fine but the minute you start shifting around, it stalls.

I completely agree. When this started happening to my truck, that's when I went to buy one myself. The Mcdonald's of car parts stores, aka O'Reilly's, never has a working reader, and I think someone had borrowed the one at Auto Zone, so I finally bought my own.
