I was 5 years old at the time. I knew nothing of it. But all throughout Elementary they talked about it. Our teachers used to be surprised we knew nothing about Columbine. I didnt really seriously learn about it until middle school when they had us watch the documentary.

Dover, Delaware working more concerned that my first child was on the way at 6 months in Richmond, VA. Still remember the first reports of Columbine trying to find my way home in time. Didn't make it but he's 20 years old today as a miracle baby. 1lb 12 ounces.

I was at school. I didn't hear about what had happened until I got home and saw it on the news.

I was in high school. It was hard to believe that it happened. Everyone hunted and I never thought once this would ever happen at my school.

This was not something I remembered like 9/11 myself. Unfortunate to say, but it is what it is.
However I was a kid when the Challenger tragedy happened, and I remember that like it was yesterday as well.

Dead serious. He grew up in Littleton and moved to Florida after graduating.

Junior in high school. A teacher told us what happened. We had a special "in case of an emergency, do this" school meeting a week or so later.

8th grade, I don’t remember the moment, not like 9/11... I remember that very minute on the loudspeaker. There were a ton of kids whose parents worked in the pentagon. That was a dark day.
I do remember the talk we had the next day in Civics class. It was hard to comprehend why a kid would want to shoot another kid at that age.

This is such a OT reaction.
I was working in a school in Carsbad New Mexico.
A looooooong way from Colombine.
A Elementary school teacher said "I almost took a job in a town 20 miles from Columbine. That could have been me."

I was living in Littleton at the time, just a couple of miles from the school. Damn surreal day.
