In high school. Went to a public school and it didn’t really register. Pearl on the other hand really hit home. Later we went to a playoff game and I to this day have no idea how kids went back to school there.

All of these events are tragic but the Newtown shooting at Sandy Hook shook me up the most. Probably because I had a little girl in school about the same age as those kids.

I was in 7th grade. This was the first school shooting that really seemed to resonate nationwide.
I was at LSU when Virginia Tech went down. That shooting hit close to home.
The two recent ones, Parkland and Santa Fe, have had me on edge. I’m a teacher, so every time these things happen there’s a review of protocol for emergencies. You know damn well these other schools and faculty/admin have the same meetings and review these same procedures.

Yeah, it could happen anywhere at any time. These overmedicated and undersocialized kids of today are in a bad place many times. Throw in social media pressure and they are ticking time bombs.

Incorrect. They never had anyone try and physically stop em. They waited for the car bomb to go off. When it didn’t they blew there heads off. In the library where they killed most of the kids
I wasn't talking about Columbine

I don't remember to be honest. It was different than 9/11 when everyone was callin each other and telling them to turn on their TV immediately.
That was the point I was trying to make as well. Its not like 9/11. Most people....if you asked them later in the year “what was the date of Columbine shootings?” They wouldn’t be able to give you the exact date.

I don't remember where I was either although I remember a lot about it. I remember the shooters names and other details. Didn't they emulate Stephen King's book Rage?

I was actually living in Denver and working in Lakewood at that time. That day, I left the office to go eat lunch in my car. There was a parking lot that had a great view of the Rockies and I would go eat there from time to time just to get out and would listen to the radio. I turned the radio on, and the coverage was already on. I was listening for about a minute, and saw cop car after cop car zooming down Colfax in that direction. The whole thing was surreal.
Listened to the whole day of local news coverage. Something like that was unprecedented at the time, and the whole community was in shock. shite, the whole nation was in shock.

I was in middle school. Don't think we knew about it until after school got out.
They had bombs that should've gone off in the cafeteria right before the shooting and another one in the parking lot right after but they used clocks that had plastic arms instead of metal. Roughly 500 people were in the cafeteria when it should've gone off 3 minutes before they started shooting.

In school.
Not at Columbine though.
So it couldn't have been me.

And the infamous Jaguars WTF guy was there as a senior. He's in the middle with his trademark look while the shooters are in the top left.

I was FedExing some film for an undergraduate film class at Southern Miss when I heard the first rumblings on AM talk radio in my car.
