Proposed park would include trails, fishing ponds

Looks pretty cool....should link in with the levee trail nicely.

How many bodies will be found in this park in the first 10 years of its existence?
I'm going with minimum of 5.

Sounds like a good idea, but they will need to dedicate at least $20 million and five years to study the feasibility.

IMO they should include a flat, cleared section for outdoor concerts.

quote:

Rhorer said he's waiting to hear back from the state to determine a timeline for developing the park. He said the park wouldn't preclude any future development on the site. "If there's some sort of huge project down the road they want to do, they can still do it," he said.

Right next to Hollywood Casino? I predict many cane poles and Oldsmobile Delta 88s.

His Baton Rouge alive was significantly more extravagant and costly.

I like this idea, in theory, but am not as optimistic as to how it will actually be used.

Parks all along the bayous throughout Houston and people use the shite out of them. The key is security and parking, along with maintenance if it floods. I wouldn't bother making the investment unless they were prepared to take on these costs each year. They do okay with the BREC park system but I'd love to see more investment in BR parks.

There is plenty of parking around, and it's on the other side of the levee, so will be designed to flood whenever the Mississippi gets high.

Security though, that's the main issue.

Flooded

So they'll have to bring in thousands upon thousands of yards of dirt to build it up.
