Unfortunately those kinds of consequences come from talking too loud or squirming in the wal mart basket

This has been the working theory in psychological and educational circles for the past few decades. That spanking causes more violence.

I’m not convinced. I think it’s much more nuanced than that.

First of all, the idea that violence only comes from witnessing or experiencing violence is just false. The Rousseau model of human nature, that humans are born without flaws, but only learn evil ways from a corrupted social system is not supported by even a cursory observation of facts or experience.

Secondly, it seems that not all humans can be motivated to act morally or appropriately in a social setting by mere logical explanations or proper modeling, even though those two methods are most important.

Some humans seem to need a visceral negative response to inappropriate behavior in order to correct their behavior.

Studies have shown that the canings in Singapore result in a low recidivism rate.

Why? Seriously why? Why do some people do violence for violence sake? Why does it seem to be more common these days, more common than just 10 years ago?

Well 7-8 years ago they said it was the statues.

Just need to take more down.

Happy New Year” before they suddenly began pummeling him, cops said. Then, one of the attackers whipped out “an unknown sharp object” and stabbed the victim multiple times all over his body

When assaulting someone for no reason isn’t enough so you try to kill him. The “teens” have no fear of the law or retaliation.

Some populations are more violent than others. MAOA-2R is much more common among people with roots in Africa, and people with it are much more violent.

No way I'd live in NYC without concealing at least a .357 in my coat every day.

I’d love to take everyone of them useless pieces of shite and throw them into a Tiger or Lions den and watch them get torn to shreds. A bullet to the head is way to lenient

Somewhere out there is a statue of a dead white guy that, had it already been torn down, this attack would have never happened.

I think that removing God, his commandments and replacing him with a cell phone and social media has a lot to do with this.
I agree. New testament says that women should do the learning at the home from the husband. And no speaking in church. Need more bible life in the world.
