when you bring in the 3rd world, you become the 3rd world.

Legionnaires is not a third-world disease, though.

Arguably, it is one of the most American diseases.

Wouldn’t want to be the water treatment company responsible for those towers that tested positive.

Yup, and every outbreak seems to have been in the US, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, or Australia, with the lone exception of one outbreak in the most European of South American countries, Argentina.

... look like the statistics are showing the disease is not as deadly as the original from back in 1976 ...

newer generations are not as potent
In 2019 you had a 6% death rate.

Could be the owner of the bldg didn't engage a water treatment company to maintain the chillers? Somebody's definitely getting sued.

Funny you should say that because black people have the highest rates of reported cases of Legionnaires' disease.

Had a guy I know get this a few years ago. Was in a coma for a month and had to have both legs amputated at the knee.
Wow. That's a tough hand to be dealt. Hope he is doing better today, all things considered.

Something like this happened at the courthouse in Hot Springs, Arkansas when I was growing up. They traced it pigeons roosting and gathering around the units on the roof. It messed some folks up.

This is why you need to keep your AC drains clean and clear. Pour some white vinegar in them at least twice a year.. one of them being when it turns cool and you are not using your AC for the remainder of the year.
